XP or what ?

The following problem:
I have changed my OS from Win98 to XP, but now I have a problem: I get kicked out of the game very often.
This is annoying and dangerous, because when I get disconnected, the character often remains ingame for some time.
Good RP interrupts constantly and if you get disconnected in a fight, you have no chance to defend yourself! I am also unable to log back in as long as the character is still ingame (tested).
Does anyone have an idea why this is so and whether there is a possibility to stablise or fix this?
I have changed my client from 98 client to XP client, so that should not be the problem.

Maybe your client runs too slowly.
Try to lower the graphic setting a little and try again.
And update all Drivers and Java on your computer
Java 1.5.0_10 is the newest one i think.
After this try to get Graphic Drivers, DirectX, Chipset drivers
What ever you can get. You need everything

Using Windows XP on an older (I assume that because you had Win98) machine (with little memory and little cpu power) is generally a bad idea. Besides that using windows at all is one of the worst ideas one can have.

I have been having a similar problem since yesterday...after I installed some new RAM into my computer, whenever I try to start Illa, it will either say that an unexpected error has occured, or it just logs off without telling me anything...This happens most often with the high graphic setting for Illarion, but it still occurs from time to time in reduced graphics

You had a different problem. The VM itself crashed. What you posted was a Java crash report, not an Illarion client log file. The crash has nothing to do with the client.

And there is nothing which can fixed the problem ?

Not from this end. Your client gets suddenly disconnected. This indicates some problem with XP or the internet connection that makes it drop the connection suddenly.
Do you have any other software with net traffic running simultaneously?

Are you sure you don't have some misconfigured firewall up?
Try disabling it...

Olay.. I disabled the Firewall from the DSL Router, hoping it works ..
Thankies all for helping.

Rather check the configuration. Being online without a firewall is not a good idea nowadays.
