I just got a new Mac labtop and i am trying to install the game but i am computer illiterate. this comes up.
An error occurred while launching/running the application.
Title: Illarion Client
Vendor: illarion.org
Category: Invalid Argument error
The application has requested a version of the Java 2 platform (JRE) that is currently not locally installed. Java Web Start was unable to automatically download and install the requested version. The JRE version must be installed manually.
I assume i have to download Java but i dont exactly know how. any tips?

Java is on the download page... Download it and run the setup.

Illarion hasn't been tested on the Mac platform. There was another user with the exact same problem.

Not to be rude or disheartening... but if you can't even get a messenger to run... give up.
You can try and contact Owl (his contact page is posted in the thread I started), but I don't know if he can do anything.

If you need messangers for Mac you should try a hybrid messanger. They work pretty well mostly.
I found one for Mac:

I have removed useless comments like "sell your mac". This is a support forum and there is always a sound technical reason like incompatible/old versions of Java and/or Mac OS.

ok NirAntae, to start off with it was two, and they were at the exact same time. Owl helped me and i gave up hope like last week. Check the last time i posted in one of these it hasn't been for a while. So out of nowhere you tell me to stop posting? i dont really understand....

You only need to make one thread for one problem. I didn't mean for you to stop *posting*, just stop making multiple posts for the same problem.
And I posted that when you did, not some random time later.
And I didn't mean to be rude, I am sorry for that. I've been a bit short with people the last few days because of personal issues (well, disasters is probably a better word, but whatever).
