Sagt mal eure Meinung dazu.

PS:Könnte das jemand übersetzten?

Rough translation of posting above:
I just want to state that there seem to be more and more new players in Illarion in recent times, who does not seem to have read the gaming rules before logging in (they write stuff like "cu, several abbrevations, smileys, random and apparantly unreasonable attacks to other chars). Within the last two days I have met 4 of such characters, which is a bit disappointing in my opinion.
Maybe there should be a kind of small introduction to the gaming rules, which every new players sees automatically when he registeres. At the moment the gaming rules are a bit hidden and not very quick to find for new players who want to play Illarion.
What do you think about it?

My own opinion:
Good idea. I still think that there should be a kind of newby-island, where every new char starts by logging in for the first time. There, the char has to do some basic stuff like talking to a trader, fight, collect some stuff and sell/buy something, maybe making some #me-commands.
So some brief scripts, while in the end the char gets permission to enter Gobiath. The aim should be that New players would take about 10 minutes for that, old ones just can do it in 3 minutes.
If there is any more interest in such a Newb-island by GMs/devs, I would be happy to work out some more detailed suggestions than the ones mentioned above. Just PM me.

There was a "newbieland" some time ago, wasn´t it?
This island where people have to tell this guy if they whould like to be warrior, mage or something else...
Wasn´t very helpfull, but for example, I knew how to speak to a NPC

The newbie island we had, was the most amazing crap i have ever seen. Not only completly unusefull and crappy looking. No, we lost around 10% of our new players at this island.
Something like a newbie island is planned, but to write something like this is really hard.

But those 10% where no really loss or? I mean... if you arn´t able to wirte "I want to become a warrior", may you should think about thrown you PC into the bin.
This newbieisland, should it be like the one in Runescape? I really liked it! But that one is not the solution of al problems. For newcomers there should be something to have a SHORT overview over for example the guilds. Sometimes its a problem to get all infomatins for me, too.

In my imagination, newby-island is a wondeful and peaceful place, where the sun is always shining, surrounded by a blue ocean and a beautiful beach.
Apart from that, I think that Newbys have to be tought in using the basic stuff of illarion, because it is most annoying if somebody asks you how to talk to a npc or how to cut a tree.
So newby-island would teach stuff like:
- how to talk to NPC
- how to buy / sell
- how to cut a tree (as example of how to use one item with environment)
- how to fight
- how to equip the own char
Stuff like background story of Illa is not necessary on Newby-island. But maybe a hint of where to find something about it if there is any interest.
Well, as you may can see, I am amazed of Newby-island. A spot in Gobiath everybody wants to go at least once in life. It is for free and all inclusive. And it makes not only the newb happy, but all other players, too.
Well, and yes, newb-island 1.0 was crap. But the advanced new newby-island won't be. You have my full support in creating it.

My suggestion is this
No 'auto-accounts'
Put a timer, that after 1 hour, will accept the account.
During this 1 hour, you have enough time to read the rules....
If you don't, you get kicked out... easy.

@Hadrian: That's a "not so good" idea.
Those who remember the old client, when there finally was a setup, there was some kind of checkbox "I read the rules", just like accepting an EULA. I doubt most people read the rules, but they were displayed during the installation at least.
Anyway, I am quite sure good ideas (and helping hands!) for a newbie island are wanted.
