Spam Forum Accounts

If you look some days there are weird forum accounts. Like today bestonlinepharmasy2 is new user. I never see some of the accounts logged on. I think they are just created to waste space. Maybe some admins should go deleting those accounts?

They are created to advertise, we call it the buisness world. Just like those signs on the side of the road and in newspapers and magazings waste space. Or comercials waste presious tv watching time that could be used to extend plots. Get used to it. Unless you live on an island you won't be seeing anyless of it.

That would be much more work for the staff filtering all these spambots from the member list. They have other things to do. I don't like them too but there's nothing that can be done about it now. From what I heard there will be some changes to the way board accounts are created which will prevent spambots from getting in some day.

Swish, storing details about a user wont kill the server.. there are LOADSA inactive accounts, there's no need to remove them either.
Just calm down, and enjoy your own...
they wont compete.

Just blocked a few IPs, but i doubt that this will change a lot.
i guess we have 10 times the amount in spam accounts than real accounts.
Edit: In between, using numbers or unreasonable lettercombos in your forum-account-name may get the account deleted accidentially.

Reason being: if someone makes an account and then forgets they have it the Admins go deleting the inactives just because they're inactive and then the people that remember they have them will not be happy and then maybe not play because their forum account was deleted. Then how are the Admins going to find out which accounts are spambots? Are they going to look at every profile and every post the inactives have made? Thats a lot of bull and a lot of irritation for so few people to do and it ends up not being worth it in the end. Causes for a lot of confusion. Besides, if someone wants to make a forum account name pr0nsecksDAMAN or prescriptomagnet and the names are taken already then boooo for them. They'll just have to pick a new name.

Hello,
please check your computers for viruses.
Some spammbot postings come from IPs also used by normals Users.
And i tend to banning those IPs.
