Religion

I know it's probably been posted before. But.. that moonsilver site only gives basic details about Zelphia/Tanora. I would like to know who created these gods and could you give me more information than that?

I am trying to put all I have into my rping. And since Taliss might want to make Zzzapharrr High Priest of the lizard city.. I really would like more information on Zelphia. So that I know what to preach when/if this High Priest deal comes to pass.

I realize religion isnt a very strong point in the players/citizens of Gobiath. But unlike them, I'd like my character to follow a very, very religious path.
My lizard is very old and beginning to sleep often (as oldness in lizards go) and dreaming of bringing faith back strongly into the lizardmen (and perhaps others in the future) and enlighten them.

Would Zzzapharrr be able to write a Bible of sorts for this religion? I'd like help in doing so. So I have something for him to preach other than "do good in your life, for in the afterlife you will have less stones to carry over the unbreathable sea".

Taliss brought up as well, maybe Zzzapharrr could have some sort of healing powers. And I am thinking.. Divine healing powers. I know what you're thinking.. why should Zzzapharrr be special and get powers? Well.. you see, my thought is.. Zzzapharrr could be a beacon for the Goddess Zelphia. This "Divine Healing" could not be abuse because it would take Zzzapharrr's energy and life force to heal the being. So it could only be used sparingly and only in the utmost of emergencies.

I ask, could Zelphia/Tanora be more of an influence in the game, as it says she still walks the lands of Gobiath? I'd like to bring some change, as would any one. But not of a fighter's way, but a prophetic way.

I plan to roleplay this out as well as I am able. I have begun developing my character (as you can see in the RPG section the "character descriptions") and plan to stick to it. Even if it means being a very, very old lizardman, religious being.

If you would like me to elaborate a bit more, please respond. I ask that some of the game makers or whom ever decided the gods for this game to respond and help me on my way on some awesome rping.

I can only give my advice about this, and it is that, more religion in the game could only be beneficial. If you plan on making a very religious character (as you said), and that character is very 'commited' to a certain god (Tanora), I do not think it would be a problem to play 'healing powers' if you DID play him for a good amount of time. I believe Nerian has some sort of powers similar to those, and up to now I do not think anyone complained about it..since the character is well played.

Yes, I plan to stick with him. With this character.. I feel my niche. Like I should've made him a while ago. I do plan on him staying a very very long time until his final days are near, and he will travel back home to die amongst family. ;p Which should be a while anyway.

seems a fine idea.
so at least one of the gods, the norodaj worship will be presented ingame by a priest.

Here's a little bit more:
2.4 Lizardfolk

Worshipped Deities:
- Zelphia

The religions of the lizardfolk acknowledges other Gods but worships only one deity exclusively: Tanora, the Goddess of Water. Her name in the tongue of the lizardfolk is different though and sounds like "Zsshel-phey-aarh" (in simplification: "Zelphia").

In canon to their mythology, the lizardfolk descends from Tanora directly. Their creation myths have striking similarities with those of the elvenkind. The other Gods are however Gods of the other races and as such, of hardly any significance to the lizardfolk. Even if a lizard does not want to enrage them and respects their followers, he will not pray to them.

Lizardfolk believe that they must pass the ocean upon death by swimming and diving through it. Had they lived honorfully, humble, and for the designs of the Goddess, then the ocean shall be calm for them. They will find some tasty fish along the way and arrive with sound travel and without harm at the Islands of Eternity.

Dishonarability, arrogance and selfishness in life will tie a stone to them for each and every atrocity, and each stone must be delivered to the Islands of Eternity. Every stone draws them closer to the ground of the ocean and thus burdens their progression, because upon the floor of the ocean is a scattered maze of valleys, rocks, and mountains to be arduously traversed. It could also occur that the ocean itself plays "tricks" on them, in shape of some annoying squids or fire-jellyfish, for example.
Those lizards who are burdened merely with small stones or no stones at all may opt to grant fellow carriers mercy and take a single stone from them.

In contrary to the elvenkind, the lizardfolk does not believe in reincarnation. Altars of the Gods as well as sacred rituals are the only way for them to return from the Islands of Eternity to Illarion, according to their creed.

However, Zelphia grants all the returners a favor: So they do not tear themselves apart in life out of pure desire for the beauty of the Eternal Islands, the Goddess ties back their memories of the land of the dead.
You might want to read the elven creation myths. I can't find them on moonsilver, but here they are:
