What skill do you need for melting goldnuggets into ingots?

Goldsmithing or Blacksmithing?

It doesn't take skill.
You just need pincers, a crucible and a mold, coal and nuggets.
And of course a furnace, wich you must first light by using it while having coal in your belt.

Warum schreibst du Englisch wenn die Dev's sowieso Deutsch können.

Er will wissen welcher Skill die Wahrscheinlichkeit verringert, seinen Goldbarren zu verheizen anstatt ihn zu gießen.

Weil ich dachte, dass mir auch englischstämmige Spieler helfen könnten .P

Kevin, smelting iron plates also raises your smithing skill, so it is a valid question whether smelting gold also raises your goldsmithing skill or not.

Can you confirm that it earns you no skill and is not affected by either goldsmithing nor smithing? As there seems to be a chance to fail creating a gold ingot.

smelting anything uses the Smithing skill. Smelting anything can get you up to level 20 in Smithing.

Smelting and crafting copper raises your goldsmithing.
