I am not sure it's the new update. I used to be able to mine all kind of gems regardless what kind of rock. Now I only can mine one type of gem only. I wonder gems production depends on chance or types of rock?

Types of rocks. You are not able to find all types of gems everywhere. Afaik, this is nothing new.

I no longer find gems in iron rocks, in coal rocks they seem very plentiful.

I am not sure what rocks give out Topas but I think it might be iron...

Theres many different kinds of rocks that give the same basic raw material, but they give different gems. The iron rocks in the silverbrand mine give topas I beleive.

Bleh next time Stephen attacks Silverbrand or any other place he will just make sure to jail everyone instead of letting you all go peacefully as clearly that is the best way to end any sort of conflict immediately.

And rocks are good for smelting into bars.
And bars are good for making weapons.
And weapons are good for killing dwarves.
And killing dwarves is good for taking over Silverbrand.
