Town Guard

Greetings Trollsbane!
After my short return to this beautifull isle you name Gobaith your governer has re-instated my positition within this glorious towns guard. After looking through the near empty guardhouse and jail ive come to realise that it seems im quite alone. It is my question to the people of the town and the Governer if they would resent me taking it upon myself to gather a small group to try and keep some order until the rank of Captain is filled.
As much as i enjoy being threatened every time i walk into the towns shop it would be remarkably nice to be able to enter with a young lady and share fair words with her, and not cross blades with another.

I might be interested, but I wish to know the pay first, I am an able fighter, but could do with a bit of training when I join, if you wish to contact me, do so through this board, by dove, or let us set up a time to meet...

There is no pay at this time, until the Governer finds the means to support it. All those who put thier names foward shall do so for a sense of comradeship, and in the knowledge they do the right thing.

Well if the thought of owning your own shiny badge is to much glory for you to cope with Baltran, i shall be sure to understand. And im afraid this isnt a soup of the day which you try to your leisure.

Jason Chuckles as he reads the note, then begins to write a new one. How he writes and acts a bit have changed slightly and seem a bit odd if you knew him, if you don't, ((Tough luck on noticing this
)).
I know this, and I am willing to join, I just don't wish to get all the
Glory of being a guard, I just want to do the job.

What are you talking about? Pay? If, you were truley a warrior you would not care about. I am clear, you could not pay me for the rest of my life but I would still want to be a guard. It is the pride of being one. I care about saving people. Not about money! The only reason I might ever care is because I need armor or equipment. But, besides that I dont care if you dont pay me.
Tell me a time to meet. I will be there.
Perhaps, you can send me a dove with the time.

Surprising words Ssafar; the other day you were ranting about not getting paid enough for being a guard.

Fine fine, I'll admit it.
I'm simply pretending not to want a pay, but in fact, I know that some day the governor will be able to, and I'll recieve a pay. That is why I wish to join.

The note is signed on the lowest part of the parchment

Ah, foolish people and their wants. What good is life without money, I ask?
How will you get food, where will you stay, what will you DO with the rest of your life? You see, I once lived this life and have found out one simple fact of life, MONEY IS POWER. Yes, it's true, people always claim it is false and money is just an object, but those are only a few people. Most men will follow whoever has more money to offer them. THOSE are the reasons why pay is good, THOSE are the reasons why, no mater what, all men need money.

The signature is crudely written and almost looks as if it was coppied, but if you have never seen Stephen's signature, you will never know the difference... ((

As much fun as it may seem to spread tales and point fingers im afraid to say none of it will be taken into consideration. I know! terrible news indeed, but for now all i need are names of those who may be interested in becomming a recruit of the towns fine guard.

Something about that. It is not right. I cannot lay a finger on it. But, Stephen would not think like that. He has made mistakes but....
Never mind.
By the way Stephen. Look, money is not everything. You can kill pigs for food and gain other stuff by being friendly and helpful.

Dear Farel,
I admire the fact that you are striving to re-form the Town Guard of Trolls Bane after it's decline. Safety of a town's citizens, and it's visitors is an important duty and not for the faint of heart. Without both Law and Order, a city soon degenerates into Chaos.
I often travel to TrollsBane for business, and have always supported the Town Guard not only for my own safety, but that of my customers. In this spirit, I would like to donate 1500 coppers to be used to pay your recruits. Hopefully this will help until such time as other funds can be obtained from the local Government.
In Service,
~Dusty Bottoms, Mayor of Greenbriar~

It also appear Dusty does not want war upon Greenbriar. Blood will be spilt but unlikely in soil of Briar or its people.
