After browsing through the RPG section of the boards ive come across something very confusing.. I am a 1 week noob so please clear up the confusion of I am wrong.

I came across a topic called Army against "Negros" Is this a racist RP? Or is there some sort of dark entity that bares the same name as a completely innapropriot racial slur?

Please clear things up, I found myself quite angry when reading that topic. (till it sounded more and more like a creature of some kind)

Negros is a drow.

I found the name humorous myself, and no it isn't racist.

I can't see how you can find the name humourous, unless in an ironic fashion. But I do think it was a bit short-sighted of whoever created these Negros, and definately not very PC.

So I think he just didn't think about it the racist way..

I don't think it's funny whatsoever and continue to find it offensive and incredibly shortsighted on the creator's part.

Negros =/= Negroes

Still sounds pretty much the same.

I always automatically read it as 'Neh-gross', as opposed to 'nee-grows'.

Negros is nothing more then a name in german. Not refering to anything else.

I never think of something racist when hearing Negros yet. As I german I did not know "Negroes", although there is the german word "Neger".

But its far from being some kind of racist. Otherwise you have to think/check every name if in some language it could mean something bad.

The first time I heard someone shout about "NEGROS", I thought it was some noob that got in game, because it was a bit after the account system removal, but I found out it was a villain lol

I find nothing wrong with the name and when I first heard it, it did not sound at all racial to me. Then again, racism doesn't really exist in my world and I like to keep it that way.

I kind of took some offence from it. Like when people say let's kill negros and shit..
