"Yellow crosses" are the multi colored pillars with spikey ends at the top.
(We need to find a better name.)

In Trollsbane you can find one at the north gate.

It'll always be the yellow cross, you know. Same as it will never be 'ghosting' only 'clouding'

In case you do not get the problem:

It is rather unimportant how we call it, we could even call it "Judlibdum", the problem is to connect the name to the looks of the item.

With the old "Yellow Cross" this problem was not present, because item really look like a yellow cross.
But the current item does not look like anything you can connect to the name "Yellow Cross", thats why newbies find themself in a almost helpless situation since the tooltip is very irritating and very missleading.

how it looks?

well, "lamp post" would not be nice.

how about "life column"?

or, easyest, stay with yellow cross and paint some yellow crosses on the two visible sides of the pillars.

Why not make it a yellow cross?

It was decided that we should not use christian symbols.

Gah. I hate religion. If anyone was offended that there was a yellow cross ingame they are way too overprotective of their beliefs.

But the problems lies within the image, not the text. You really cant describe it besides "Go to the Gay Pride Mace to get Ressurected!"

How about call it a "Shrine", say to a local God?

We have shrines, and some used to count as ressurection points, yes.
But what if that one is so to say 'against' a certain god, he'd still just go there to be ressurected simply for skill and stuff.

There are altars (Big table things) which would be different from a shrine (A small pillar or pile of stones) which is less 'ritualistic' but only 'devotional'. Altars are used for ritualistic worship, yet 'shrines' are for the common people to simply 'recognize' a diety's presence, just 'Devotional'. That's all.

If a chaacter isn't religious, or even anti-religious, it doesn't devalue the power the 'God' gave to the shrine. The shrine would work for all. Besides, if you travel to the 'cross' (Shrine) expecting to be resurrected, that action alone shows that you 'believe' enough that you will recieve that God's 'gift' of resurrection. The local 'God' still gets his 'worship' through this simple act of faith in 'resurrection'.

I believe RP'ing the 'crosses' as local 'shrines' to a Diety would be in line with Illarion's fantasy backdrop, and who knows, maybe it'll help to remember the old Gods again?

The big pillar thingymajig.

Just keep it as yellow cross; if you brought chanukah into illarion I wouldn't give a toss; I'm sure noone cares that a cross could be seen as a christian symbol because this is a game in a magical land where christianity doesn't exist. Seriously, who cares that it's a yellow cross, don't wipe out all the retro crap.
