Official election of the new Governor of Troll's Bane

Dear citizens of Troll’s Bane, dear folks of Gobiath,
I am proud to announce that the election for the new Governor of Troll’s Bane will start soon, on the 13. Irmas of the year 19 ((thursday, 24. Aug.)). You will be able to give your vote till 23. Irmas till the 17th hour ((sunday, 27. Aug; 3 pm, GMT +1)). Then, the votes will be counted and the result will be officially proclaimed at the same day to the 19th hour ((4 pm)) at the market place.
Who is allowed to vote?
You must be citizen of Troll’s Bane to be allowed to vote. On the one hand, basis is the current list of citizens which was created by Stephen Rothman. Considering the fact that this list represents his personal policy and the fact that there have some people who expressively did not wanted to be a citizen under Rothman, but now have the wish to be a citizen under a new leadership, as well as the fact to give new travellers the opportunity to vote, there will be the chance to become a citizen of Troll’s Bane, before the elections starts.
There are some requirements for being and becoming a citizen:
I You are not member of a party which is currently working against the town or is in war with it (in particular an ally of Negros or member/sympathiser of the Temple of Bjolmur)
II You will accept the result of the vote and will give the winner the chance to prove himself as Governor and will accept and follow his decisions
III You will stand for peace and tolerance in Troll’s Bane
How to become a citizen?
You have to contact one of the three following persons:
Siltaris, Lady Samantha Meryadeles, High Knight Arameh of Kalahorn
You have to tell them your wish to become citizen of Troll’s Bane, you need to tell them your name and you have to spend an amount of 100 coppers as citizen’s fee. The collected money will be given to the elected Governor later so he can invest it for benefit of the town.
How and where to vote?
I am proud to tell you that we have improved the method of voting. Instead of traditional public voting on the town board, there is a new and easier way of voting. During the period of election, which lasts from the 13. Irmas until the 23. Irmas, there will be lecterns in the library, where you give your paper with your vote to. For each candidate, there is a lectern. Choose the lectern of your preferred candidate, put in your note with your name and wait until the day of proclamation for the result.
Each citizen has only one vote. After he or she voted, there is no opportunity to change the vote. All citizen's votes have the same weightings.
((more detailed information about the system will follow))
Important: To be able to vote for the new Governor, you need to become a citizen before the start of the election. All people who have become a citizen after the 13. Irmas ((Wednesday; 8 pm, GMT +1)) will not be able to vote during this election.
When will the result be proclaimed?
On the 23. Irmas the proclamation of the new Governor will take place at the market place to the 21th hour ((Sunday, 27. Aug; 4 pm)).
Then, the result with the number of votes and their names will be presented and written at the town board as well.
Who are the candidates to be able to vote for?
After more than a week of public discussion and suggestions, there are two candidates: These two persons are
- Brer Beothach
- Liles
These two persons will write down below what their particular plans as Governor will be. By doing so, you as citizen are able to choose the person you think is best as Governor.
By campaigning as Governor, these two persons manifest their will to lead Troll’s Bane into a glory future, fighting the threats and fighting the raising darkness and stand for tolerance and justice in Troll’s Bane, steadily following the will of Troll’s Bane’s citizens.
The finally elected Governor engages the citizens of Troll’s Bane to deem over the Governor’s actions, by making a new fair election. This new election will have to take place at most 9 month ((3 month)) after his proclamation as Governor of Troll’s Bane.
In conclusion the deadlines are:
Become a citizen who has the right to vote at the upcoming election before the 13. Irmas. ((Thursday, 24. Aug; 1 am))
Citizens are able to vote from 13. Irmas until the 23. Irmas, till the 17th hour. ((Sunday, 27. Aug; 3 pm))
Proclamation of the new Governor at the 21th hour of the same day. ((Sunday, 27. Aug; 4 pm))
For any questions concerning the vote, send me a dove.
The space under this message is only allowed to be used by the candidates and myself. All other notes will be removed.
May the Five be with all of us and hold their hands over fair elections.
In ordinary of a peaceful future of justice,
~Siltaris~

Dear inhabitants of Gobaith,
I, Brer Beothach, wish to aid the island as the next Governor of Trollsbane. Though, I am not handy with a blade or verse in the arcane, I can offer my ideas. So, without anymore ado I bring you my manifesto.
Brer's Manifesto wrote:First off, as governor, together we will draft a new set of laws. I will ask everyone to join in to vote on each law, as it will effect everyone on the isle. No one will be without a voice. Each new law will be voted on before it is amended, and each new law can be asked to be changed to fit with changing times. Though, certain laws will only be allowed for citizens to vote. These laws would ONLY effect those who are citizens. If a law effects others, then everyone is given a voice.
While the new laws are being written and amended, a new captain of the guard will be elected. Just as the laws, everyone will have a voice. The town captain can create their own structure (within reason) and hire recruits. If contreversy arises on whatever reason, the captain will answer. Much more indepth laws on how the Governor and the Captain relate will be drafted. To prevent from corruption of officials, laws will be drafted accordingly. As well as a new captain, a new magistrate will be voted in. Instead of simple trials, the magistrate will have the distinct duty of interpreting laws if the need be. These three people will coexist to form to protect and prosper the citizens and inhabitants.
Once the basis of a new government is set and officials are in their place, I will try to hold events to increase moral. Monthly holidays will be created in honor of their ilk, such as Irmas we will hold a big market festival or Siros we will try to fund a nice decorative altar for weddings.
I will also establish treaties and foreign affairs with other towns. In a manner that we can rely on each other, instead of competition. To stand as congregation of knowledge and strength. With these treaties, we can stand as one against those common enemies that arise.
I hope to bring these major attributes together to create a better living space for the island and the community. As well, I do not know to the eligibility of my candidacy, but a friend once told me that a try cannot hurt.
Another major subject I would like to touch on is the sentence of Stephen Rothman. If I am elected, I will present some form of sentence which everyone will agree upon. Seeing as he effected the whole island, I find it only fair, but this will be a voice of the island and not just one strict order. Hopefully, we can find in our hearts to not let anger take over our logic and can come upon a fitting rehibalitation. Don't let our emotions get the better of us.
On the ever concerning subject as the Cult and Negros, it is imperative that we speed things up. Whoever is elected must set up the guard as well as troops. If I am elected I will try and first get a Guard Captain ready and create a solid defense before we decide how to take care of him. As a whole, we will find out how to vanquish these sorts and make sure we lose as little as possible. Now is not a time to spend on thought. If I do not win, I would like to stress the new Governor to set up a defense first. This is imperative.
With that being said, I leave myself open to everyone's comments. I don't know the fate of my candidacy or its legitimacy, but if all that comes of it is unacceptance, than so be it. Think long over these things, and make sure who you choose is who you wish to serve the island.
Respectfully,
~Brer Beothach~

I will like to share my plans for the government of Trolls bane in hope to sways doubts about me.
If elected I would create a council of advisers to help guide me into making the town prosper. I would elect a adviser for:
Godly and spiritual advice
Public affairs advice
Military and public safety advice
I would also like to create yearly ((4 months)) elections for each position (Adviser and governor). As well as introducing a better voting system for citizens to have their say in how the town is run.
It's also obvious the town has made some enemies within the last few months and I wish to change that. I wish to create a mutual defense treaty with every town on the island to make sure no wars erupt between our fair settlements.
For defense against thieves and other enemies I wish to increase the guard force by adding another rank (Senior guard) and hopefully recruiting those that have been wrongfully treated by the old government. As well as this I wish to pay to have the jail seriously increased in size and security. I wish to change the jail so thieves and wrongdoers spend their time inside and not finding a way out every 20 or so minutes.
Many have said if I am elected it with just be Rothman in charge once more. This is not true. If I am elected, however, I would like to aid other towns affected by his plans with my own sweat and blood repairing the damage and compensating for the lose.
I would also like to take the time to declere I am not another citizen of a town, member of any cult/temple or part of the Nergros force.
They are my current plans if I am elected. Thank you
Liles
PS. If I am elected I would like to give my position to Brer untill I return. I trust Brer being a good man will not make major changed untill I arrive

Actually, i am not on the citizen list anymore, for what reason ever. Since i was around troll's bane since ages, i see this as a kind of insultive manner from the old leadership.
Please put my name back onto the list.

As long as their name is on the citizen's list, they are allowed to vote. Otherwise they can gain citizenship as long as they follow the requirements of citizens.
~~~
*Due to the latest bahaviour of Grant Rothman, by kidnapping Dusty to blackmail the Alliance as well by latest aggressions against my person, he will be removed from the list of citizens and thus loose his right to vote during this election.
*The same is for Rankor Deathronk, who is a murder, thief and robber, who broke out from jail and resists his deserved judgement. He will not be allowed to vote.
*There is no other way to vote than the officially method accounted above. All those who may have business have to organise their time plannings themselfes. 10 days for election should be more than enough for all citizens to spend 10 minutes of their time to vote.
I am supposed to be a citizen already, and I don't plan to pay for being able to protect a town wich I loved so, and wich turned against me so easy right now, how do I know you won't do it again? I nearly died a couple of times trying to protect this place during the lich wars, yet you turn on people like me so easy. I think you can understand my lack of trust right now.
* All we are doing during this vote is to take the only legal list of citizens of Trolls Bane, written by the former Governor, and take it is a basis. As long as the former Governor, Stephen Rothman, was not willing or able to put names onto the list, these peoples have to ask him why he did not do so. Concerning the knighthood, some members are named on the list, some not. We are not responsible for that. The only thing we are responsible for is to allow fair and equal elections. Do not consider this as an insult, but as a start to gain peace and unity in Trolls Bane.
On the next day Siltaris goes to the board again and has a look at it. She sees some messsages and shakes her head a bit. She removes three more notes from the board. A small note is pinned to the wall.
Grant,
If you would have read the requirements for becoming a citizen, it really wonders me that you even ask. Your latest behaviour, in particular your agressions on me yesterday, prove that you fail with rule I and III
>>>I You are not member of a party which is currently working against the town or is in war with it (in particular an ally of Negros or member/sympathiser of the Temple of Bjolmur)
III You will stand for peace and tolerance in Troll’s Bane<<<
That means that you are not allowed to become a citizen and thus are not allowed to vote. Maybe you will prove that you are different than it seems to be, but this will be in the hands of the Governor.
~Siltaris~
What really disturbs me is that Liles and Arameh are both known members of the blackstone cult. You can't vote or become a citizen of Trolls Bane if you have a few people in your army that are members of the Blackstone cult but a member can lead? Arameh is a great man and so is Liles but by the rules they shouldn't even be a citizen of Trolls Bane, thus making Liles ineligable for election.
This is a public outcry to all citizens of Trolls Bane to overthrow this new power.
A week would be more then enough time perhaps in a usual election but look, this election is very unique. People need time to get the facts straight, whom is lieing and whom is telling the truth. Brer is a citizen of Varshikar and yet none have questioned, not even you Lady Siltaris, his reasoning to be Governor of Trolls Bane. Liles is a member of the blackstone cult and yet no one has questioned or ruled out his legitimacy. Give more time and let the government, (assuming no one feels that the Magistrate and the forces of this town must be removed immediately), stand for a time being before you force feed an election so quickly.
Dear Phillippe,
Yes, I am a citizen of varshikar. I have already informed Jeremy of my intentions on running and he was fine with it. I would, of course, not be a citizen of Varshikar anymore. As well, I once worked as magistrate for Trollsbane, that does not mean I can help out Varshikar.
My intentions are already posted. If you wish to believe them or not, so be it. I cannot control your opinions, only express mine.
I am glad to present you the final list of citizens who all are allowed to vote. Have a look beneath for the list.
Now, in not even a half day, you can give your vote to your prefered candidate. In the library on the first floor, there are two lecterns placed in the room with the chimney. The lectern to your left is for Brer, the lectern to your right is for Liles. They are also marked with the particular names.
If you want to give your vote, just write down your name in the list which is placed upon the lectern. Be careful to choose the lectern of the candiate you really want to vote for! Once you have written down your name, there will be no opportunity to change your vote!
You can vote until Irmas the 23th till the 17th hour. ((Sunday, 27. Aug; 3 pm GMT +1))
Dear Citizens,
I thank all those who voted, it helped the town effort. As well, I'd like to thank all those on the isle for making it what it is. I am sure we can overcome hardships that hold us in our way.
My first actions will be to get a captain elected and start making laws that we can abide by. The captain will try to be elected as soon as possible, as this is the most important at the moment. At the same times, laws will be voted in. As I promised, all inhabitants may vote on those topics which will effect you.
I thank you all again and I hope I can repay the favor as governor.
