The message is written in an irregular writing. The paper is partly covered by small red drops.
Dear people from Gobiath,
I want to inform you about the latest actions of Mr. Rothman, the self-proclaimed Governor. The man without honor. The man without braveness.
Some days ago, I was the Captain of the town under the leadership of Lady Aleytys Lamar. I just was Captain for some days, because then Mr. Rothman came back and claimed for power again, no matter that there already was another Governor in the town. He just acted like nothing happened. He did not consider what kind if changes happened. And he did not listen to the peoples wishes - the wishes for a free election for a Governor. Is that behaviour honorbale or brave? No!
During my very rare time given to me for going against crime and anarchy in town, I only was able to imprison one robber and murder, Rankor. I am sure, there is much more to do than this, but Mr. Rothman thinks different. Instead of supporting me and the guard in defending the town and instead of appreciate the imprisoning of Rankor done by me, he prefered to raise his sword against me to strike me down - is this honrable? Does the town need a man who kills the few persons who stand for peace in town? No!
Let me tell you how he acted before i felt the cold steel in my back and my soul moving out of my body feeling the warm embrace of Ushara.
I entered the town and was asked by a dwarf, who was new to this island to explain him some things about the town and the island. More than saying 'greetings' and confirm my support in showing him the town was not possible. Mr. Rothman interupted the talk by stepping close to me and asked me in a harsh way for the cell key. Do we need a man who does not seem to care for travelers visiting the island? I doubt.
He explained me that i have ownership (the key) of the Government. But firstly, the cell key he asked for was never given by anybody from the so-called government to me. Second, there actually is no government in trolls bane. As long, as there are no official elections for a new Governor, there is nobody who has no right to rule over the town. Does the town need a man, who does not consider the peoples' wishes? Never!
Furthermore, Mr. Rothman stands for peace in town, as he always states himself. So do I, as i have proven, most recently by imprisoning Rankor while Mr. Rothman did not care for the town and its citizens these times. Why does he not trust and cooperate with the few people who care for peace in town then? Does Trolls Bane need a man, who does not take nor accept the help of others to stand together against crime together? By the five, no!
Because of these two reasons, and because both (him and me) were standing at the same side and i expected that we would act together until the new election will be made (which would have been the most reasonable behaviour in this moment), I was not willing to hand him the key. I have the same aim as he tells he has himself - keep peace in town. He did not even listen to my arguements, which are the ones I told you here. Instead, he gave me an ultimatium, then he would take the key himself from me. He counted till 3 with raised weapon. I did not raise my weapon, but let it in my belt. I did not wanted to fight. I wanted to talk and care for the future of Trolls Bane together, till the elections are made. At three he attacked me, an unarmed woman, which did not wanted to fight him. Does the town need a man, who attacks a person, who does not want to fight? Does the town need a man, who attacks a person, which has the same aims as he has, namley standing for peace in town? The answer must be: No!
After his first three slashes i raised my sword and fought him, defending me. But instead of having a fair fight one on one, a man came and attacked me from the side at the same time. Mr. Rothman did not tell him to stop attacking me. Instead both fought me. Is this behaviour honorable? having a fight two on one, while me never wanted to fight? This behaviour shows that he has fear of making a fair duel. He fears to die, he fears the cold steel, he fears that someone could harm him. Does the town need a unfair coward as leader? By Malachin, no!
When i tried to step back, to stop this crazy event, they did not hesitate to hit into my back. I felt the steel going through my armor into my flesh. I fell on my knees, was able to turn while trying to defend, crouching away from them, trying to speak and tell them to stop. But instead of lowering their weapons, both jumped forward and slashed down on me. They raised their weapons and slashed them down into my chest, without hesitating - they killed a woman, who stood for the same aims, who did not wanted to fight them, who was forced to defend herself against two men, a woman who tried to stop the fight, but was cold-blooded murdered by Mr. Rothman and his villain.
When my soul left my body i felt the embrance of Ushara. I heard how she whispered to me. I felt her love. I felt that time has not come yet for me.
I woke up in a bed in the Seahorse, where Lady Meryadeles and Lady Aleytys Lamar and the medico Lady Igdrasil cared for my wounds. I thank them a lot for doing so. It is good to see and feel that there are warm-hearted people in town. That makes me keep on following the path - the path to a peaceful town. A town, where kindness, honor and braveness are values shared by its people.
It makes me feels really sad that Mr. Rothman has not even one of these goodnesses.
Now, as you see which kind of man, which kind of barbarian, brute and fiend Mr. Rothman is, I call all people from Gobiath to raise their weapon against him. He will lead Trolls Bane and Silverbrand and the whole island into never-ending darkness, if nobody will stop him.
He must be stopped.
I will give my life to do so - and I ask the whole island:
Is there anyone who follows into the fight against darkness, against Stephen Rothman?
