if you are carrying too much to move, is it frowned upon to jump around, or get a friend to push you around? And can you actually jump through portals and up and down ladders?

It was frowned upon in the past by some people, now jumping around is actually slower than walking. There is some kind of "auto walk exploit / glitch", it cannot avoid obstacles, though. A real auto walk function (that replaces fixing the direction arrows with tape until you reach your destination) won't come before the next client update ( ... )

You can jump on warpfields like ladders, but beware, the client cannot handle this and you will encounter wierd graphic effects. A known bug.

If you push yourself A. you get a black thing round the edge and B. if you go in a room it gets screwed up

well the auto walk I use is called holding down the button and alt tabing it in windows mode.

We're talking about encumberance here!!! If you have enough stuff you can't walk.

all i do if this happens is throw some of it infornt of me. like in real life a quick heave and toss it a ways walk do it again. much quicker and easier then lugging it. but yes this would be bad rp, if you can't move then you shouldn't be able to jump.

You cant. You need to walk into the ladders.

simply go up put whatever it is down, then go back down and bring the rest up, as for portals that lead somewhere i thought you could, will have to try it if I find an open one and have some useless junk. if you can't throw stuff through then you can jump through but role pley yourself throwing stuff threw. this is what i think.

Yes, I do enjoy stealing people's ore and bags as they cheat their way down the road.

It cant be that hard to snatch up a few gold nuggets as they chuff them down infront of you.

All i have to say is:

You gave your char a certain Strength attribute for a reason so don't abusing it. Carry what your char can carry only, If you could not pick up a large bag of something, there is no way you are even able to throw it down the street.

Stop being lazy and make multiple trips.

If you can't pick it up you can't throw it. but sometimes you can picks stuff up and can't move. throwing good, jumping bad.
