Proposal for RPG

In a nut shell we dont have a rule about hijacking RPG posts. For instance someone makes a thread about a specific theme from a first person view (not a thread inwhich characters are writing arguements or letters) leaving it open for people to reply and add to that theme, then someone comes in and adds a well thoughtout post but has absolutely nothing to do with the theme established by previous posts.
I suggest we add a rule so people don't do this sort of thing. It just frustrates even when everyone has the best intentions at heart.

What are you talking about?
An OOC disclaimer about the thread being open or closed, and what to write and what not works pretty well if one thinks about it, otherwise it's open to all, freedom of speech and all that.

It wouldn't be right if I didn't say this, but I find it a bit hypocritical.

I say if you don't want it hijacked, say so in brackets. simple.

I dislike all 1st person view post. They are a complete and totall waste of RPG space, and frankly I coulden't give a damn about your character's poems or who she or he thinks is 'cute.'
I think it would be decent for a first person view sticky for people to post like important dialog so people who do care can post. I'm always disapointed when I see a new post in RPG and all it is is a freaking diary.

I agree with Ku. I don't honestly care if someone thinks they're great or had the best sex ever.

Dont read them and shut up.

I don't. I still find it annoying to get my hopes up of a decent or informative post on the RPG then having it cut down to an autobiography.

Aww, poor, poor Ku, dont cry, they will remove the evil posters, dont worry, you want a hug?

*Some* people like the autobiography. And *some* people like to stay on topic. This isn't about what type or rpg posts you like. Frankly, so long as they're IC and meet the other board rules, you don't get a say.
What this topic is about is the idea of perhaps creating a new rule to cease the hijacking of people's rpg threads.
While I see where Sam is coming from, I think the ((Closed rp)) option works quite well. And there is always the option to allow people into your thread later if you'd like them there. I think that has in the past, and could continue in the future, to cover it.

so what your saying is not giving others a chance to catch you? what if someone has good perception? #me is good enough.
I hate most diaryies and stuff and when theres something new on the rpg board I expect it to be first person, but I don't see a problem with it.
