ok so i have some newbie armour and stuff and a new sword now why cant i see it on my char does just the good stuff show up or is it my comp? any help would be nice thanx

Characters do not display the armor or weapons they hold in the game screen.
This, so called "paperdolling" (like Diablo2), is not implemented in the game.

then why do some of the screen shots have armour and weapons all nice and prity

As the category tells you, this is the "Best of the old Client".
And don't be missguided, these weapons and armors you see where as static as your current avatar is.
This means, even when you wear nothing, or something else, the old character still showed up like this.
At the end it was a common census in our community to show no weapons at all insead of weapons all the time.
