Control help

I notice NPCs around town but no way to interact with them. I was reading some information on a fan site that showed items that could be purchased from NPC shops along with the locations of the shopkeepers. I have tried EVERYTHING in order to interact with them, yet still nothing.

Perhaps I am dense as it did take me awhile before I even figured out how to open doors.

Your assistance would be appreciated as the manual does not carry specific documentation concerning this issue.

well, starting with Hello or Greetings alwyas helps to know what type of npc it is, or a "Who are you". But for shops, say "what do you sell" for a list. Does "list your wares" still work?

You must stand within 2 squares of them, and talk to them.

"Help" would be the best phrase, as it will list what you can ask the shopkeepers.

Thank you very much. Someone needs to document this somewhere, else you are going to be in an intense roleplaying session walking into the shopkeeping area and the atmosphere is going to be ruined by a newbie going:

"Can I see your wares?"

~Nope didn't work..~

"Can I browse your wares?"

~Nope not that either.~

"Will you show me what you sell?"

~hmmm~

That is of course if they are anything like myself..

*laughs*

Anyways, all my frustrations have been cured by your sound advice.

Many thanks.

"Will you show me what you sell?"
This should work - if not, it's a bug.

Maybe you can think about a way to to improve the merchants - I have one, but it is not sufficient and quite a brutal hack once again.

I would like new/ improved keywords:

How many <ware> do you have/ will you buy?
What would you pay for/ is the price of <number> <ware>?

Right now it's kind of a gambling what you actually get and what the price is.
I also would like if NPCs would round fractions of coppers. Mugush pays 1.5 copper for an axe handle from a certain amount on, so I always get betrayed of a half copper if I sell an uneven number of handles.

Good ideas, Adano.
I would also like the word "all" as <number> for my wares ("I want to sell all <ware>").
But before improving the keywords the bugs should eliminated (e.g. some NPC do not react or the "famous" hat-hatchet-glitch).

As well as NPCs taking your wares but not paying...
