Today i will disconnect the depots of the town, academies and refuges in our small island.
So Trolls Bane, Greenbriar, Tol Vanima, Varshikar, the Grey Rose Castle and the magic academy will get own depot networks.
EDIT: too many depots: Silverbrand, Orc Cave, Farmers Union, of course too.
The goods in the current depots will stay in Trolls Bane.
To make it fairer, all named places but Trolls Bane, get one more depot.
This depot is still linked to Trolls Bane and you can use it the exchange the items. After one week, from now on, i will delete this additional depots. I think thats enougth time, to handle everything correctly
~~~~~~~~~~~
Heute werde ich die Depots der Städte, Akademien und Zufluchten auf unserer kleinen Insel trennen.
Also werden Trolls Bane, Greenbriar, Tol Vanima, Varshikar, die Burg der Grauen Rose und die Akademie der Magie eigene Depot Netzwerke bekommen.
EDIT: Zu viele Depots. Silberbrand, die Ork Höhle und die Farmers Union natürlich auch.
Die Sachen in den Momentanen Depots bleiben in Trolls Bane.
Um die Sache etwas besser zu machen, werden alle genannten Orte, außer Trolls Bane, ein zusätzliches Depot bekommen, welches noch immer zu Trolls Bane verbunden ist.
Dieses Depot kann genutzt werden um die Güter auszutauschen und an die Richten Orte zu bringen.
Nach einer Woche von nun an, werden diese Depots wieder gelöscht. Das sollte genug Zeit sein um alles zu regeln.
Yes... but...
I have a hard enough time finding things in a single depot. Adding in the layer of 'now which depot did I put it in' will make it nearly impossible to find anything!
Write on a piece of paper where your "Tools Depot" is, where your "Food Depot" is, et cetera. A post-it note, even!
Interessante Sache....heißt das, dass man mit Karawanen zwischen den Städten rechnen darf?
Die kann man ja überfallen......oder beschützen.....gute Sache ^^
See? Now people can be hired to cart goods around, and merchants who buy and sell get more valuable.
Moment mal, ich glaub ich habs nicht ganz verstanden. :/
Also, es sieht folgendermaßen aus: In einer Woche gibt es nur für die einzelnen Orte spezifische Depots, d.h. wenn ich etwas in Trolls Bane ins Depot lege, dass ich es dann nicht mehr in Varshikar aufnehmen kann?
Und um die Sache fairer zu machen, hat jeder Ort ein Depot erhalten das mit Trolls Bane verbunden ist, damit man die einzelnen Sachen an die passenden Orte legen kann?
No! NO!! NOOOO!!!
Is this the "downer" after the great updates the last days?
Question: What is the advantage of this disconnection?
("Great" fun to sort my depot without the possibility ot open two bags in the depot at the same time...
And will the silly scrolling in depots be improved? And maybe an auto-sort-function added?)
PS: Caravans between towns? I don't think so.
i dont like it. What's the point? And if you say realism ill point to magic and the fact that apples fil lyou up about as much as a peanut should....
The point, is to increase player interaction and to spread it across a number of different places.
All it does is make people more liekly to head to trollsbane, which just worsens the problem we already have to that extent....
by Nalzaxx
It will be in addition to a number of other efforts to spread players of course.
I suppose next they'll make the traders only work if you're a citizen of its town, but 9/10 of them are in trollsbane, so only people who like to be in trollsbane will prosper
Maybe it will encourage the dwarves to give up their "closed gate" policy.
And Falco, thats already planned.
This is a very bad thing indeed. The depots were used to virtually move things from one place to another. This change destroys the only way of bulk movement without creating any suitable replacement.
Caravans would be nice, but:
- You cannot carry any useful amount, only small loads and they slow you down a lot
- There aren't even decent roads connecting places and you don't travel faster on roads.
- There are no carts to move stuff with
- There are no beasts of burden
- There are no boats
- There are no NPCs that would move stuff.
Downgrades to the game world should not happen before there is a better/more realistic alternative!
You can't expect everyone to like every change in the game. For anyone who doesn't like it: give it a chance. It's part of the game now, lets not complain until at least a few days have gone by.
I just think that all my characters are skeh-rewed (o.o) ... :
-------------------
"La-di-dah! Let me hike my cute litte toosh to Vanima, to get my coinpouch (^_^) ! "
*insert wolf*
"AGHHH!! *crawls back to Trollsbane in bloody blob of miserable goop*"
...
"La-di-dah! Let me hike my cute little toosh to Vanima, to get my coinpouch (^_^) ! "
*insert goblin, riding on wolf*
"AGHHH!!"
-------------
Yar, skrewed (^^;;;.....
At any rate, in my mind I had always considered the universally-connected depots to be... well... something I always call a "Skim-Over Factor" in Illarion. For example, you always shrug and skim over the fact that a character suddenly disappears in the middle of conversation. Why? Well, the PO's connection broke.
Or for example, a quick and agile monster somehow can't go diagonally across some rocks, because only player characters can jump their characters. But we ignore that, and in fact, even take advantage of it sometimes.
Or for example, lizards are supposed to be able to swim, but we don't have that function. But we ignore that, and just roleplay different things that don't have to include that.
So, for example... sure, it doesn't make realistic sense to have all of the depots connected. But wow... it will take me 27 (more) lightyears to do anything in Illarion (o.o) . I love this game, but my schedule definitely doesn't.
So... all of the depots that are in the same town will at least be connected or something? Just no town-to-town depot connection? And we have about one week to re-arrange everything according to depot access, right?
