An Elf and a Jail Cell

Today was the day he was first thrown in jail by Stephen Rothman. Under false accusation more than likely. His brother was sending him small parchments while he was in the cell.
Tiny bits saying what Rothman was charging him of, and what he was planning to do. It was all bullshit in his eyes, Dhaeraow had a broken past. Sure, Banditry and Thievery were staind into it, but he left all that, even became a Guard, before all the controversy started and he left, fed up with all the lines, and lines of bullshit the government and guards were feeding them all.

Stephen Rothman, already having a grudge against him for his past, was just looking for a way to jail him.
Even siding with the liars, and the assassins. This didn't matter to him anymore, it would all be over soon.. even for Rothman.

First, Stephen set very lenient policies for this new "Blackstone Cult". They will no doubt be troublesome. Then he accepted donation from them even. This was very uncharacteristic, Fooser thought, walking on the small road behind the library. Especially for a knight who was the governor of Trollsbane, one who set some of the most strict policies against criminals the town had seen in a while. Then he put a mercenary in prison, without even saying what yet. Fooser could make some guesses what was going on, and none of them were very good possibilities.

He came up to the door, the former building of the Silverstar merchants. He pulled it open slowly and quietly, walking inside. None of the guards gave any hassle, seeing who it was.

"I'll need a few moments."

The guard nods slowly and moves farther outside. Fooser closes the door in a similar manner as he opened it. His steps were not very loud, but they seemed so, the interior was so silent. He peers in the first door, and sees an empty room, and he moves to the next.

"Ah."

He looks in closer, and sees the elf.

"Well...Looks like we have an interesting man in here today. Mind telling me what this is about?"

"Jalen Noel is what it's about." He replies, "He stole my bag, so I lashed at him, and that stumpy named Negyth Tu told Stephen I attacked Jalen within town, when in fact, I attacked him outside of the Southern Gates. He then, will try to charge me with murder, when Jalen was standing beside him while he threw me in jail. I got that information from a brother..."

He sits down on the bed once more, obviously frustrated. Though Stephen locked him in the prison, if you look beneath the bed, you may see the handle of a warhammer, which he had on him even as Stephen locked him up. Not a single mark on the door indicates a sign of trying to escape.

Fooser keeps looking inside through the small door window. He doesn't see the handle, and even if he did, he probably wouldn't care. He then leans back a bit and starts to think a little on this.

"That wasn't a very nice thing of him to do."

He breathes in fairly heavily.

"Though, someone like yourself, carries a lot of baggage. So perhaps it is understandable?"

"Nay. That Illminded sonnuva bitch has had it out for me since my beginnigns in this Town. Always breathing down my back, just waiting for me to slip up so he could haul me to jail.
Now that I've been falsely accused, he's going to lock me up, without even gathering evidence!?"

"Yes, very bizarre. Nothing about the charges has been said publicly yet. I wonder if Orren even knows anything."

Fooser starts to tap his fingers against his chin, hitting them against the firm scales, in thought.

"You are a man that likes to get down to business, or so I hear."

He moves back closer to the door window, and peers in affirmatively.

"Perhaps....if you can help me, I can help you."

Dhaeraow rises and moves closer to the window, placing his hands upon the bars that block him in.

"Oh, yes, I do get down to business. What do you have in mind for me to do, and how do I know I can trust you? I've met you once or twice, but I do not, know you very well.. or enough for me to trust you."

Fooser watches the elf move closer, his black eyes remain fixed on where they are.

"Well. It's fairly complicated. But, it is now evident that Stephen Rothman has accepted bribes from criminals and cultists. Bribes, and in return he lays off of them. Or even worse, he might even be a member himself. He is acting erratic. And due to this, he is no longer acting in the best interest of the people of Trollsbane. See where this is going?"

He finally turns his head back to see if the guard is nearby, and once satisfied, he turns back.

"The investigation has turned up a lot. But Stephen can't know or it will only slow things down, and he would obviously object. I will try and get you out, at least for a while. In return, you help me fufill the plan to press charges against Stephen. And if everything works out, we can continue to help eachother beyond that point."

He looks back at the elf, awaiting a response.

Dhaeraow ponders a moment, but nods in agreement.
He then sticks his hand out-between one of the bars, as a Code of Agreement handshake.

"You scratch my back, I'll scratch your... Scales."
Dhaeraow grins slightly and nods.

Fooser grabs his hand firmly and shakes it.

"Patience though. I do not know if Stephen will catch on. But all the fingers are pointing his way. Just hang in there, and hopefully I can get you out, and we can work from there."

Just as quickly as he entered the building, he is gone. He moves out the door and taps the guard on the shoulder.

"Treat the prisoner in there with respect. Consider him a guest for now."

Dhaeraow nods and watches the lizardman leave, the nreturns to his bed, to rest for the night.
