A really 'unique' newbie problem

OK, here's a new problem i dont think ANYONE has ever done. I would like to get a medal for this one...you know, maybe the 'Darwin Award'?
I am a newbie and as my character was fighting, he died. Well, a ghost doesn't have to worry about gettin killed, right? So I figure, "Hey! Why not get some exploring done while i'm at it? What could happen?"
Hehe! Well, somehow my 'ghost' wandered through a 'magic portal' by accident someone just left lying around (Darn Litterbugs!) and it sent me to some desert island with no way off! I cant talk, cant eat, cant even cry out for help. I'm trapped! What do I do!!!!!!!
I made another character (awaiting approval) just in case I'm S.O.L. but there's gotta be some way to save my Character.
BTW, would someone tell Govorner Stephen Rothman that Alex will be late for dinner? (Hahaha)

Your probably at Varshikar i think. You can't talk as a ghost ethier. You can whisper and thats about it.
Try going south a bit and come upon Trolls Bane and then to the cross at the north gate.

He said a desert island. Island. That means he's surrounded by water and NOT in Varshikar. Nice try though.

is it the Sirani isles? just step on the docks to go through if it is (do docks work as a ghost?)

No, its not anywhere i know of. This desert island has a really BIG temple in the middle. There is no dock, just sand and this freakin temple! There is no way out!
There are four little islands in the corners, but no way to get to them either. I think its another dimension or something.

Run before Bjolmur gets you. Muahahahha.
Except you are a ghost and can't be harmed anymore than losing your skills.
I suggest you don't log in until you are teleported by a GM to somewhere near a cross. The entire time you are ghosted, you are losing skills (and if your skills aren't high it may even take from your language skills and we won't be able to understand you).

Screen shot? With F9???
Anyway I tried that and nothing happens. Isnt that usually the world map?
It usually shows up, which I thought it was odd that F9 didnt show the world map either, probably cause im a 'ghost'!
Details on this screen shot thing please?

The screenshot...
You can use F9 maybe, but I always use the "prnt scrn" button. Then open a program, something as simple as Paint. Click "Ctrl" and "v". It will put that pictureof your screen into the program. Then you can save it and name it and look back at it and sigh "Oh the memories".

Everyone has a story, do don't feel stupid. As soon as GM is online someone will teleport you to a cross. But it's rather late for most of them so you might have to wait until morning.

PM me your trapped character's name. I think maybe I already know where you are. Btw, if there are any graphics that look like blue clouds/bubble of light blue mist, try to step into them.
p.s.- Do NOT take the opportunity to explore when you have become a ghost. It is programmed, that the longer you are a ghost, the more skills you will lose. Try to find a resurrection cross ASAP.

Thank you everyone for the advice and help.
((I think my character is screwed anyway! I was a ghost too long and therefore have probably lost all my skills, including language))
Someone please tell Governor Stephen Rothman that Alex is now 'mentally challenged' after a COMA and will not be coming to dinner after all.
I'll try not to make such a crazy mistake next time.

Your skills have lost a lot of course by now, but I think your Alex can still be saved. He has not lost
that much yet.

Good luck.

How does the skill loss work?
Do you lose a fix amount of skill points/grades in the moment of your death and then constantly/linearly more points as long as your are a ghost?

They'll be willing to give you back your common and racial language, though.

As far as I know.. yes..
However the skill loss isn't THAT big, the one yous you lose instantly are of a higher magnitude, so if there is a GM quest, and skeletons or something next to the cross DONT revive.. trust me...

would they be willing to give Allen his halfling language back? or do you have to lose alot.

by Rinya
Your halfling language has now been bumped a very small bit to a tolerable level, Allen. There should not be any language problems.

sorry for wasting your time then

No, no time wasted. Occasionally we replace language skill for chars who have lost too much, because there is no point to have such low skill preventing communication.

Can you still #me when you've lost all your language skill?

Tip for life when you've been res-killed and you can't talk
1) #me's work... #me (( SPEAK HERE ))
2) If you see someone who can't understand you for that reason, use #me says " " instead of speaking
3) !gm OR logout and Pm a GM (hey that rhymes

)
Methods tried and tested
