I've found what look like grape vines next to a building, but I can't figure out how to eat any. If I right click, and select "use", what do I do next? I've tried clicking in a black inventory space, and I've tried clicking everywhere else, too! But nothing happens. I also tried clicking on "use with" and then clicking everywhere, but nothing happened then either.

Also, when I go to a bookshelf and click on use, then click on a book, the book appears next to me -- then I click on "use" on the book, the book opens up to a title page, but that's it. Should I be able to turn a page or something? I've tried clicking all over the book, but nothing happens.

I've also read everything on this web site that looks like it might pertain to these questions, but I can't find any helpful information. Also, once I'm in the game, there's rarely anyone around to ask (the last time I was on, there were zero other players!).

One last thing. Each time I log on, the same text comes up about saying what I want to be and talking to the human who is nearby. I said what I wanted to be the first time (a craftsman) and was taken to another place. Should this text still be coming up every time?

Firstly, have you read the manual? Might consider that.

Yes, you can turn the page by changing you counter at the bottom of the screen. The manual describes how to use this.

Just ignore it, it just comes up everytime. Your char is not accually saying this, so nobody else will think your char said this when you logon.

and usually theres more than zero players, thats a special moment unless really late at night...during which there are sometimes players still

To use the grape vines, you simply need to hold shift, left click them, and release shift. However, you also need to develop a certain skill to successfully get grapes.

If you're looking for fruit, I'd advise trying apple trees, or cherry trees (with fruit on them). They're much easier to pick.

Finally, if you can't locate the manual, press the F1 key while in the game, and it should open (provided your computer can open .pdf files).

You can also target the grapes and hit the right mouse button, then immediatly the left one. Works quite fast. Have fun trying this on bee houses... Yeah, I like jack-hammer-powerclicking.

To get food, you can also slay some pigs and smoke the pork. Much more fun than picking apples and you also get some leather this way.

Yes, Gro'bul, I have read the manual. It mentioned the counter, but didn't say anything about using it to turn book pages. Also, I didn't see anything in the manual about what keys to use to actually get food.
