Question about magic/learning

Okay, so.
From my understanding, right now, in order to learn magic, you must be taught it by another mage.
And, from what I have seen, most of the magic users are at least moderately 'good guys'.
So... how does one go about creating a dark mage? I mean... that's not exactly the kind of thing you can go around asking in the town square, yanno? "Hey, do you or does anyone you know train dark mages/necromancers?" Yeah, that'd go over well. lol
I've heard 'rumors' of someone who will teach dark mages... but how do you find them?

I think you just enter the acedemy and study offensive magic. but I don't know much about magic so thats just a guess.

Look around ingame.
Anyhow, there are not really few dark mages (at least four !) in the game.
They will definitely cause trouble in the long run (With the summoning spells for example) and it is very likely that they cannot be played anymore after some while because they will collide with the most other players.
Anyhow, the illarion-definition of magic is that it is neither good nor evil. It's some energy, initially caused by divine beings (see background pages for info about these) and now somewhat represents the life force which is "produced" in the world. It can be used for good or bad stuff - of course those using it with bad intentions often look somewhat unhealthy (two of the actually played dark mages are played very well and with great style, the two others are played somewhat good but acting kinda touchy, "intentionally" evil and short-fused which makes an evil char kinda flat (and has the main goal of making her/him collide with many other characters soon).
Anyhow, magic has nothing to do with the religions neither, so really "unholy" stuff would only originate in evil priest magic. For such stuff, wait until priest magic is implemented.

An evil mage is smart enough to act good......until he has the power to unleash his darker side.

Unless he's just so evil that he can't even think about thinking good. Then he's just screwed from the get-go.

10 million good guys vs. 46 bad guys. They are already screwed from the get go. The only difference is how long they hide and how fast they run.

It's quite true that Illarion is infested with "I r t3h good heroe!!!" type character, and it's quite annoying.

But craftsman in war just look at it, and when they get chased then they log out.

I don't know if there are any dark mages around
But just play your character. To find the teacher for the darkies is nearly impossible if you don't know him. He will find you
