Chaos In the RPG board, and my solution:

Currently the RPG board is in chaos, there are loads of assorted posts, on different subjects; and sometimes you don't see somethign "Important" for a few days after it started.

Here is my suggestion, we add tags to the title

Here are a few examples, care to suggest more?

==Stories==

[P] : Personal/Private => Used for personal RP connected to that person, example his past; or that he's new to town; or diaries or something... Private, ie only a select few can enter.
[Pb]: Public => Used for Personal RP, but allowing freedom of others to join in the story; however, this won't have a large effect in game.
[IP]: Important Public => Used for RP which will effect the main of people. Example during the times when the Executioner was around, killing people...

==Messages==

[N]: Notice => A Notice which will be open to everyone, however isn't that important [Tournaments, Meetings]
[LN]: Letter notices => Open letters, messages to everyone; threats et cetera
[IN]: Important Notice => Used for quests, or when there is a major threat to Gobaith; example a dragon, undead army; or declartion of war, or a new country et cetera
[N-]: Notice to _ => Used to leave a notice to a specific race. Replace "-" with the first letter: D,L,O,E,H,Ha
[LS]: Letters to a specific person => Used for a group of people who can't be contacted otherwise

==Usage==

Examples:
Thread Title: [P] The coming of Joseph Borg [P]; [Pb] A wounded person [Pb]; [IP] An army of undead [IP]
[N] Fishing Contest [N]; [LN] A message written in blood [LN]; [IN] A dragon in Trollsbane [IN]; [NO] All orcs unite [NO]; [LS] To the Guards [LS]

Also could we have more immaginative titles, which give an indication of what to expect? I'm sick and tired of seeing:

A letter, A paper, A piece of Paper in Eliza's Shop, A small piece of Paper, A paper stuck to a wall
or
Love, Beauty, Hate, Threats

RULES

Another Idea is a few 'standard' rules; otherwise we'll have a spamfest on most RPG boards.

Suggested Rules:

I) Notices can't be touched by other people... UNLESS
a)The author has "left a blank space"; in which case it can...
b)The message is written with blood, or some other substance OVER the message, in which case the author is asked to edit his post and point out the blood.

II) If someone wishes to discuss a notice; he should attach a new paper ((ie => New thread)); then PM the author with the direct link; so it can be posted (()) to the main message

The reason for these are that sometimes important notices are drowned by posts; comments and threats.

These are just a suggestion... I'm sure we can patch up any shortcomings before the GMs decide to agree/disagree

I would like to add the

[NSIBMITTMOM] Tag

Not so important but more important than the most other messages Tag

If you want to use such tags then not so much. In a few days nobody will know what they all mean. Maybe we should really differ from a Townboard where only messages are pinned on. and no storys where telled. And an RP Board where storys can be telled and so on. There is no real need for 15 different tags. Maybe only a few.

What is the point in starting a new topic for each and every reply to something where they havn't put there was a spare paper?

In my view, I hate it.

I kind of tried to do that with the [Vote] topic, but adding too many will get really complicated, if kept simple it would really help a lot, I have seen things like this on other forums and it can help, but there's only like 3 tags, not 20 or so.

yeah, tone down the tags just a bit, but besides that it's all good.

I completely adore the idea of labelling them, although those tags are a little extreme. Maybe just [Notice], [Open RP] and [Closed RP]?

Far too complex suggestions.

that sounds much better to me

I don't think this idea would do anything to lessen the "chaos", I think it would be more likely to make it more hectic.

great...add those labels and I will be able to read it even less than I do now.

For this purpose, to find important things, there exist the guild board for towns and guilds.
Each with one single topic (all inactive are closed).
Each should contain in the first post all important data and regulary be updated.
Each with the right for a disclaimer, which allows to delete unnecessary "hate mail".

And there is a sticky in the guild board for important laws of the different places.

It is only necessary to keep these two things up to date. And there is the real problem. People are often too lazy to do this.
Your tags won't help in this matter.

Hey *waves hands wildly*

I use those things. Well okay not the weather thing, but I do enjoy the library and horoscope and the IG Date is extremely useful.

And I like the idea of Labels on the RP posts, but they should follow the K.I.S.S rule.
