New Client Not Installing?

I finally gave in and tried to install the new client again this morning, first utilizing the on-line setup. I got to the window that pops up asking for my character name, password, and had the row of buttons below the both of them... I think Forum was on there, and so forth.

After clicking the button to log on, I got a title bar and the left bar of a window, and the rest a black screen. I waited... and waited... and waited.

Nothin'.

So, I went into C:\Program Files\Illarion (which is where I requested the new client be installed). Nothing new there at all aside from the new client's Read Me file.

I tried installing again with the off-line setup. Got nowhere. This after I installed the most up-to-date Java I could find (version 1.5.0 (build 1.5.0_06-b05) )

Of course, this computer is beyond old... almost 8 years, now. Would it be better off as am emdtable?

Help! :(

other people have run it with worse pc's. Make sure your drivers are the lates t ones. How long did you wait for it to start up? Cus it takes my pc about a minute or two and its about 5 times as good as yours...

All the drivers are updated... took most of Sat. evening to do it, but it's done.

As far as wait time, I waited for ~10 minutes, and nothing.

Main thing isn't even running it. It's installing it (or appearing to) and then having nothing change. No new files or anything, save for the ReadMe.

*slaps her forehead*

Okay... it's installed. God forbid I should use the "Start" menu, right? I'm normally used to using icons on my desktop, but it then occurred to me to check the Start menu.

There it was... new server and all. God I feel like a doofus.

Anyhow, I just tried to start it up again. Clicked Options, and nothing was checked... no values filled in or anything. What should I put for each?

P.S. Sorry for running around panicked like a head with my chicken cut off... or something like that. It's just been a looooooong weekend.

Put the "fade out obstacles" as low as possible. It tends to slow down your movement when you are close to a wall or object.

Relative mose weel must be checked if you have problems navigating the containers with your mouse weel. If it keeps running left or right when you just move your weel a slight little bit, check this.

Well... it'd be nice if I had more than just the control bars (the paper doll and the text box). Every field is black. Image Image

search for Belgram's posted options. They work for just about everyone.
