The Illarian Ilympics - Let the games begin!
Posted: Thu Dec 20, 2001 10:27 am
We will be holding a series of games where the individual winner of each game will recieve a small prize and the overall winner of the Ilympics will be given a special prize. In each game the winner will be given 5 points, second place 4 points, third place 3 points and so on and after all the games whoever has the most points will be declared the overall winner of the Ilympics!
There is no fighting or spell casting during the games. If you break the rules you will be disqualified from the game and maybe lose points. If you break the rules twice you may be disqualified from all the games.
The date and time have not been determined yet but it will most likely start at around 11am pacific (8pm GMT i think?) on either Dec 22, 23, 28, 29, 30. To determine the best date possible, there will be a topic on the main board for discussion of the date of the games.
There is an entry fee of 2 silver for each person which will allow you to participate in ALL of the games. Although you don't have to play all of them if you don't want, you will probalby need to if you want to get enough points to become the overall winner. Some are individual games and some are team games. Each team game requires 4 members to a team. You can make your own team if you want but you must have the same team for all team games. If you wish to participate in a team game but have no team we will put you with others who also have no team at the beginning of the games.
If you wish to participate or register your team (we recommend you have a team name or group up with your guild
) you can do so with Dyluck or Olorin and please try to do so before the day of the games.
Here are the 4 games that will be played so far. More games may be added later.
1. Pigball (team game)
The game is played in a 9 x 13 field where the objective of the game is to kick (or push) the pig into the goal of the opposing team. All four members of your team play at the same time. You can push the pig and you can push other people as well, but be careful not to attack them. It is recommended that you wear shields or a wand. There will probably be a time limit of 5 to 10 minutes and if it is a draw then there will be a 1 vs 1 shootout
2. The 15 Meter Dash (team game)
This game has its own mini point system where the winner of each race gets 5 mini points and the second gets 4 mini points etc. Each memeber of your team participates in one race against members from other teams and the team who has the most mini points total from their members is the winner of the game. This way slower people still have a chance to win in this event if they have someone fast on their team.
3. Rapid Jumping (individual game)
Two players compete with each other to see who can jump through the obstacle course to the other side first. The game will be played in the "tree" format where the winner advances to play against other winners.
4. King of the Grain (individual game)
Two players compete with each other, playing as either the offense or the defense which will be determined by luck of the draw. As offense your objective will be to push your opponent out of athe way and use a scythe to obtain the grain that he is guarding. As defense your objective will be to prevent your opponent from getting the grain by pushing him away. Once again it is recomended taht you wear shields or a wand. The game will last for about 2 minutes and if the offense has not obtained the grain, then the defense will be declared the winner. This game is also played in the "tree" format.
Have fun and enjoy the games!!
