could it be made possible so that whenever you eat food with these in hand, they would give you more health, (or fill your hunger bar more)

and they would break after a while since they're cheap and everyone would use them.

Plates are used by cooks to prepare dishes. Cooked dishes give considerable more food value than unprepared stuff. They also break, though rarely.
