"So that's what it has come to..."

Berengar was leaning at the shop wall as he had done so often. He had to think about many things, though he didn't know why he did it in the busy streets of Trollsbane and wasn't seeking solitude, as usual. Maybe he was too troubled to notice.
"Stephen a threat to the island?... He was just ambushed by a bunch of orcs and lizards in the middle of Trollsbane and people worried about HIM gaining too much power? Why should he be more or less dangerous than any other leader of Trollsbane?..."
A well know noise made him interrupt his thinking, and he raised his head to see where it was coming from. It was the noise of af few orcs fighting right outside Eliza's shop.
"So they don't even care to walk the few steps out the east gate... Well, I don't care... today showed me that Pendar's heritage is finally shattered to pieces... and Trollsbane's power nothing but memory, yet they worry more that it could regain it's power through Stephen than orcs able to kill freely inside it's walls..."
He shook his head in a way of regret and tried to ignore the orcs as good as possible.
"I will keep out of it... this time hopefully... no, I m sure I will... there was only one man able to make me follow him... fight for him... even die for him...
Yes, I will keep out of it this time..."
He looked up again as he noticed someone stepping outside the shop. It was Arameh. Berengar examined him and couldn't hide a certain degree of contempt. He couldn't help it, he just never changed his opinion about people and he hasn't forgotten that Arameh had joinded the lichs once.
"Hardly to believe that this one is the more honorable one of Stephen's knights... yet he doesn't seem to care that the orcs are violating town laws... well, three on one, couldn't do anything anyway... he could try though..."
Berengar kept watching and didn't believe what he was seeing. Arameh had just asked Gort, one of the people who had ambushed his Lord just an hour ago, for a friendly duel.
"If you just looked at your 'knight's' attitude half as good as you look at their fighting skills Stephen..." He suddenly felt sick. He had to get out of here.
"So that's what it has come to", he thought while quickly leaving Trollsbane.
