Suggestion: Production system

Suggestion for the item creation (ex: carpentry et cetera) system.
I don't know whether the interface was changed or not, and to what extent, but i'll make this suggestion anyway.

The old system (again I can't refer to the new so let me assume there was no change) was very bad for roleplay. You have an object, say a shield; and you have to play around in order to find out what you need to make it. If a carpenter knows how to make one, then as sure as anything he'll have an idea of what he'll need; also since it isn't a new invention, but something that others have made. Also some items are hard to realise their use. Example few people know the use of the 'nail board' (which was called many more things in the past). Call that RP? A carpenter finishes his latest item, and doesn't know why he did it in the first place :P.

Here is my suggestion:

When you open the production menu, something that looks like a book pops up. On the left side are the items that you can create, sorted into menus. Whislt on the right side is blank (for now). You select what you're going to create (one click) and the right shows text and a picture of the item. The text will be as below

A: The item name and what it requires to be built (magnitute and type)
The basic use of that item

B: The complex use of that item (ie in more detail)

C: How hard it is to create, as compared to the other items

D: How it compares to the other items in that category (if compareable) in terms of statistics.

E: Other notes

A should always show. Whislt BCD depend on the person's skills. B would depend on his skill USING that item (example: If he's a cook, he'll know the complex use of a cooking spoon). C would depend solely on the production skill. D would depend on the production skill AND the skill in using that item. E would be stored on a local disk, and would be fillable by the user.

=
Example: [FALSE STATS]

Magical Elven Bow [Piccy]
Requires X of [woodtype] and Y of [other items] to make
Used to propel arrows forward

B: Used in conjuction with arrows as a missile weapon. Not good for close combat as will easily break

C: Medium

D: Faster than most other bows, however its range is very limited.

E: [Your text goes here]

or

Bucket [Piccy]
Requires X of [woodtype] to make
Used to hold water or other liquid items inside it

B: Used for cooking; or in order to make dough with it. Also can be used to hold dyes and brewed items

C: Easy

D: Not Applicable

E: [Your text goes there]

Get the idea?

How about adding those informations to a book instead of the production menu? I see the point of this, but don't you think it might be nerving to have all those informations on screen over and over again?

With the new books (they can feature a picture), I am sure something like this could be implemented if somebody volunteers to write the texts.

Sidenote: Before anyone writes "Hey, I can do that, gimme an hour", we have around 350 final products (not counting intermediate products and items like books) that would require such a description. Exspect 500 items in two languages = 1000 texts.

So, any volunteers?
