then it says that my internet is down(its not) or the server is down(it can't be cause there is 3 people playing) then another button comes up that says i cannot connect, then it exits.

The server is frozen. When your computer locks up, it doesn't display that it's off, does it? You have to restart it manually and until you do, you see the last thing that was on your screen before it froze. Same thing with the server. Everything is frozen in place; or "down."
