About items and monsters

Just something I've been thinking about.
Shouldn't there be a bigger variety of items monsters drop?
I mean, an idea that always seemed good to me was different items for different areas. For example, a mountain troll doesn't drop the same as a forest troll, and so on...
Also, no actual npc enemy drops money. I remember that in the old server, even trolls used to drop around 15 coins. At least the bandits should carry some copper, in my opinion.
So, I'd like to start here a small list of suggestions of what you think that should be added to monster loot. I highly think the GMs should pay the necessary attention to it, I don't think I am the only one unpleased with it. But remember to be logical about your suggestions.

Flies, scorpions - nothing;
Bandits - some copper coins, thievery gloves (I remember I got this once, but I'm not sure if it's still active), bottles, logs, some food;
Trolls - branches, herbs, club, seeds, fruits;
Ogres - some basic metal armour of low quality, more variety of weapons of low quality, maybe some minerals or rocks, ham;
Squeletons - maybe, if possile, bones (like the insides for the mummy);
Red squeletons - definetally weapons stronger than the common skelleton's (since the red ones should be tougher, and the only real valuable thing they drop is a red key few people know what is for);
Beholders - something of magical origin (they only drop rubies, and beholders are know for being highly powerfull magical creatures);
Ghost - nothing;
Mummies - nothing;
Pigs - nothing;
Sheep - meat (I always wondered why they don't drop meat as well as the pigs);

I think that is it. Add your suggestion and let's see if any results come from this. I don't know if this takes a lot of time to be made, though, or if it is difficult, so any answer is avaiable and understanding. However, if more players do apply to these suggestion, then I guess a future update would be nice (before the new client that is, we all know the wonders it will bring, along with many more monsters).

Thievery gloves are, I believe, a GM item. That is because the thieving system isn't finished, or even started.

I got them once with another char, for sure. But only once. From bandits.
They looked sort of like white hands, but I never used them, although I know how to and what they do.

Well, but the gloves aren't that needed now, I believe.

Perhaps humanois creatures would have a small chance of dropping a lot of useful items, say a chance of dropping a tool or a potion of some sort, or a little food.

Hmmm, the food idea is good, it seems I forgot that, but I will add to the humanoid monsters list, then.
And about the tools, well, maybe the bandits... sometimes I meet them facing trees and there are cut trees near their camping. Why would they cut trees if they didn't have any tool? Hmmm, maybe...

A greater variety of monster drops is in work. Every monster will have at least 216 (?) combinations of different drops.

Hehehe, Squeletons, what a classic spelling, I love it, and its only compounded by the fact that you almost spelt it right when you weren't thinking about it.

Its spelt, I believe, Skeleton.

And I qould query your use of armour drops by the ogre's, I mean, how is some armour worn by a 10ft tall ogre ever going to fit on a 6ft man?

Well, a halfling can use the warhammers dropped by trolls.

But why would anyone want to wear ogre armour? It probably smells. And don't they just wear a loincloth in the graphic?

Now now.. the first rant on his spelling of Skeleton was cute, but this right here just goes too far:

Gah, atleast its next to W.

I still think twohanded weapons shouldn't be usable for halflings. and that normal swords and maces should be like twohanded weapons for them.

Its really a question of realism vs. whipping the Dev's hard enough that they put everything on hold to change it.

Yeah i have already posted a suggestion so that holding weapons would depend on strenght. Like example for a war axe, a very weak character coulnt use it, a normal strenght character would strike it using both hands and a very strong character would use 1 hand to lift it, thats just an example to see what i mean.

that will never be a fair idea until we have better balance in the weapons/armor system. orges and trolls that are a dozen times stronger then your average halfing do next to no damage when wielding a mace. add this to the whole super warriors in super armor thing and the whole system unbalance.

The better balance will come with the new client. and a server upgrade. the future battle system will allow you to use single handed weapons and even shields with success.

Would be fun to see a knight with a double-axe in one hand, and a shield in the other. Invulnerability anyone?

Most peoples coulnt lift weapons like bastard swords,they would need very very high skill,and certain weapons that cannot be used with 1 hand will always stay 2 handed,like double axes.

most two handed weapons, such as large sword and polearms were designed to be used with two hands, regardless of a person strenght weapons like these would have completely different balance then the one handed variety. in this snese no matter how strong you are because you choose to use the weapon improperly, you would be far more prone to stumble and miss strikes completely, espesically the warrior who would swing his weapon with particularly large amounts of force. so in the sense of bastard swords and certain other two handed weapons being used in one hand there would need to be penalties, like large amounts of misses. lower damage potential and much slower hitting rate. i don't think anyone would like that.

Weapons like bastard sword were used with 1 hand like a 1 handed weapon,but theses are like 7 feet tall and huge.Im not talking that any medium fighter go around and swing 2 bastard swords at once if thats what you think.The peoples that could fight like that they are like 1/10000 that could be able to.But im just suggesting that its could be really really hard but possible.

Two handed weapons are two handed.
One handed weapons are one handed.

And nothing else.

A spell, certainly. But nothing so remarkable since where I live we say "esqueletos", and I guess that mixed with some not well slept hours makes you mix the languages. :wink:
