I just thought about this: maybey ther could be major portals to major cities, portals that are free and last forever. we don't need them between troll's bane and rose castle but portals to greebriar and varshikar would help alot of rp there. not too many so that portal books can still sell, but a couple to those places that take a long walk and there are little reasons to go.please post your opinion

Yes i agree, places like varshikar cost a lot by portals,60 coppers to go there and come back, and walking is really boring, but i dont like the idea of the huge portal...

I'm not sure about this proposal. AFAIK, the new magic system allows mages to open portals. This will mean teleportation will be far more widespread, allowing cheaper, en masse travel.

Yes, yes but no one except Tyrus will ever be able to use it.

Not true. Learn Ancient, and you can understand the spells they use.

yea you can understand the runes you don't have

. they proposal i'd agree is iffy, because it could lead to abuse of portal hopping, such as the bad villian hoppinh back and forth between the same to town or so until he loses his presuers. things like that everyone finda annoying.
As for Ancient. you think because you miseed the lesson you can never learn? well try asking a classmate for some pointers or ask one of the Archmages what materials you might need to learn. i'm sure they'd help you.

I would say, constant always going ones between only the biggest places. You have to buy a ticket for like 15-30 coins but the man has an infinate supply of tickets. Limited to 3 places or so, but much more consistant than a book, never know when nebaar has those. A villain could already buy a bunch of books and do the same thing.
