How do you fish? I used the rod and used it on water.... waited.... waited.... waited... 30 minutes and 5 apples later... still nothing. How are you susposed to fish

Shift and click on the rod, then while holding shift click on water (must be in a sqaure adjacent to you)

Make sure the fishing rod is in your hand

And in order to fish you have to USE it with the water repeatadly, you try to catch something every time, and its no use waiting.

So you Do it, and if nothing coems up (or even if it does) USE it again

As Hadrian mentioned, the fishing skill is a bit less realistic than it may seem, you could say: Instead of just casting on the water and waiting for a bite as you would in real life, you must shift + click rod + click water EACH TIME you try to fish. It's more like a shoot and miss/hit, not a time based activity.
Please also remember that there is a fishing skill implemented in the game, so the better you are in this, the more fish you will catch.
