There are many stories about the demon. But the most known and maybe the most reliable is the story of the evil magican Kal’garel… who destroyed and savaged the northeren forgotten islands,in the time after the Ulorg clan wars.
The Ulorg clan* had enormous magical powers… and magical weapons of many sorts…the remaining people got hold of many artifacts… but without any training in its use, they quickly got overpowered by Kal’garel’s force.
The treasures where brought to Kal’garel and among the artifacts where a book , that got the magicians attention, it was called "Rex mundi" … and that was the name to the demon of lost treasure. (he was called ’Asmodeus’ in Kal’garel’s language)
Kal’garel hid his treasures all over the world, then he found an old dwarf mine where he put a clue somewhere** , then he called for Asmodeus and cursed him to watch over his treasure… in a state of rage, Asmodeus killed Kal’garel, but the demon still watches over the treasure he was forsed to watch over long time ago… the book ,
"rex mundi" lied on the ground for 2 whole winters, when after a while , a elf dared down (his name is forgoten) and took the book… he brought it to his castle…
by this day ,the castle is destroyed, because one of the princes got crazy and ordered it razed… he soon got killed by one of his many enemies…the same happened with the rest of his family… but after the castle got ruined the royal magican ordered some undead to watch over the book…
to this day, its told that the book is in a wast underground , that’s under the ruins… but noone have ever proved it right…

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*the Ulorg clan was killed in their civil war… all of them where destroyed…. But its still rumored that a few survived and lives..

** Kal’garel left a poem that elders say might point out the location of the clue:

The sun never shined there
Guarded by Agganood (another of the demons name)
Deep in the demons lair
A place made out of wood

nice story, leif. it's great that somebody writes stories. but mabybe you get not so much response because you have to scroll horizontally to read the story, that sucks. and i wouldn't let the demon guard a treasure, gold and jewels and that. maybe a powerful magical item would be better.
did you have latin in shool? The names you used are latin, "rex mundi" means "king of the world" and the "deus" in "asmodeus" means "god". i think fantasy names would fit better in the world of illarion, but most people can't understand latin and might think that latin names are in a fantasy language.

i dont know latin...i stole "rex mundi" from a catolic/alchemic story about asmodeus...
it said that asmodeus guarded enough tresures, that if you capture him you could get enough
treasures to be the king of the world... and
acctually the Asmodeus is greek, it means ehm... i cant remember...
but Asmodeus is a demon in rl... (i stole the name from the bible i think)
he is the demon of lost treasure...
lemme see...
here are some info about Asmodeus from Encyclopedia.com:
"
Asmodeus
Pronounced As: asmods , demon of Hebrew story. He plays an important role in the Book of Tobit. Also pronounced Ashmodai
"
he is also the demon of greed... nice? my story is also for intelektual people...
did you have latin in school?

yes, i had latin at shool. i don't remember much of it, but i can translate simple phrases and words. i don't think it's good to put rl names into illarion, because it's a new world, independent from our world. and ad&d had problems with fanatic christs who belived the game to be a satanistic cult, because they put demons from the bible into their monsters compendium.

but the demons are the bad guys....
and he is not in the bible... he is just in a holy text...
sorry i wrote that...
but i think the name works... i am a christian and i accept that...
others may belive what they want really...
its not satanic... and if they think so, well it must be their problem ,right?

its not my fault the demon is named asmodeus... its the gods fault...
the real asmodeus and the "real" asmodeus are two different demons
they just happen to have the same task and same name...
the gods act in mysterious ways.
its a whole new mythology
