Common Problems for New Players
I submitted my story and have not heard back yet.
The generally accepted time to wait for your account to be accepted is up to three days, although it almost always takes less time. If, however, after three days you have not gotten a response, you should try to login, and if that fails, PM a Gamemaster. It is possible that your account was not decided on for some reason, or, more commonly (this is why you should try to login first) your spam filter deleted the message. **Occasionally, when you click the "Submit" button for your story, the form will clear and will not get sent. If your form clears, and then your "Account status" page still brings up the form, Try resubmitting it. If the problem persists, PM a Gamemaster.
When I try to login, I get WSAECONNECTERROR, or 3 error boxes
Check to be sure your internet connection is working (If you're reading this, it is
). In this case, the server is down/frozen. you can look at the "Server Status" thread or at the "Statistics" page to verify this.

Make sure that you have created a character, and that you are not logging in with your account name instead.

In this case, go into your account page. Next to the character you are trying to log in with, it can say one of three things: 1) Name Check, 2) Name Accepted, and 3) Playable. In order to play your character, it must have a status of playable. If your status is "Name Check", the name still has not been approved by a GM. Allow up to 2 days for this. If your status is "Name Accepted", then you must clock on your character's name and edit the character's beginning stats on that page. After that, the character status should become "Playable."
When I login, I get a black screen for a second, and then the client closes.
This always happens your first time logging in with a character on any computer. This happens because the folder for your character (which contains your character log, saved names file, and map view files) is being created.
I cannot connect to Illarion, but my internet is working, and the server is not down.
You may have to disable any software firewalls you have to be able to play.If you have tried a few times to login, you are positive the server is up, and you have already disabled all firewalls, you can start a topic on the technical supprot forum. If you do so, please include your system information, such as operatiing system, graphics card, drivers, etc, and the current problem you are experiencing, including any methods you've tried to fix it. This will make it a lot easier for anyone trying to help you out.
I get an error that says "You tried to logg in twice"
When you log off a character, it sometimes takes a few moments for the server to process your logoff. Wait up to five minutes, until your name disappears from the "Players Online" list, and then login again.
When playing, my client closed itself automatically
The server may have gone down; Check the Server Status thread or the Statistics page. If the server is up, simply log in again; Sometimes this just happens, especially on a slow or wireless connection.
My client has strange gray boxes/arrows all over the screen, or I cannot see the text field box.
This happens sometimes when you minimize and then reopen the client. Simply log out and log back in to fix this problem.
I'm stuck on an island with a guy on it that won't talk to me
You are on the "Newbie" island, and the "guy" is an NPC, who will talk to you if you do it correctly. Stand directly in front of the man, and say "I want to be a warrior" or "...magician".. etc. just as he asks you to when you log in.
OK, I talked to the man on the island, now what? Where am I?
Depending on your race, you will start somehwere different. Humans will start in Trollsbane, the main town. It is in the very center of the map (You can see the map on the Main Page). If you are an elf, you are on the island of Vanima. If you are a halfling, you are in Greenbriar, orcs begin in the northeast part of the map, and lizards begin at the docks. You can see how to get somewhere else by looking at the map on the main page.
I wanted to be a magican but I accidentally typed fighter, or a similar problem
Relax, what you say to the man on the island doesn't effect anything except what you start out with. If you select Craftsman, you'll begin with some tools, Fighter with a weapon and shield, etc. You can always change your mind about your character's path after this.
How do I cast spells/learn magic?
Magic is currently not implemented. It is expected soon.
How do I pick up items?
To pick up an item, simply click on it and drag it into an empty spot in your inventory.
How do I use items?
You use an item by holding down shift while you click on it. You can use items with each other by doing this in sequence.
Help! I am completely confused by this game and have no idea where to start!

Wenn ich spiele, schließt sich mein Client automatisch von alleine.
Der Server ist vielleicht abgestürzt; Überprüfe das Server Status Thema oder die Statistik Seite. Wenn der Server läuft, log einfach wieder ein; Manchmal passiert dies einfach, besonders bei einer langsamen oder kabellosen (Wireless) Verbindung.

Abhängig von deiner Rasse, wirst du an verschiedenen Plätzen starten. Menschen werden in Troll's Bane starten, der Hauptstadt. Sie ist ziemlich mittig von der Karte (Du kannst dir die Karte auf der Startseite anschauen.) Wenn du ein Elf bist, startest du auf der Insel Vanima. Wenn du ein Halbling bist, bist du in Greenbriar, Orks starten an einen Nord-östlichen Punkt auf der Karte und Lizards starten am Hafen. Um zu schauen wie man an einen anderen Punkt gelangt, schau auf die Karte auf der Startseite.
Ich wollte ein Magier werden, tippte aber ausversehen "fighter" ein, oder ein ähnliches Problem.
Keine Sorge, was du dem Mann auf der Insel sagst, hat keine Auswirkung auf das Spiel, ausser den Sachen mit denen du startest. Wenn du "Craftsman" wählst, startest du mit ein paar Werkzeugen, "Fighter" mit einer Waffe und einem Schild etc Du kannst danach immer noch entscheiden, was für einen Weg dein Charakter geht.
Wie zauber ich/ Wie lerne ich Magie?
Das Magiesystem ist im Moment nicht eingebaut. Es wird aber bald erwartet.
Wie hebe ich Sachen auf?
Um eine Sache aufzuheben, musst du es nur anklicken und zu einem freien Feld in deinem Inventar ziehen.
Wie benutze ich Sachen?
Du benutzt Sachen indem du die SHIFT-Taste gedrüeckt hältst, während du die Sache anklickst. Du kannst manche Sachen miteinander benutzen indem du dies in Folgen tust.
Hilfe! Dieses Spiel verwirrt mich total und ich weiß nicht was ich als Erstes machen soll!
