I don't know if this is bugging you people as much as it is me but here goes... when a char dies does he:
I don't like this one cause I hate hearing " I killed you twice already" and such
A: Die and get reborn at the cross
This one is middle of the road I guess...
B: Severely injured
And my way of thinking
C: The char is killed and -IF- his soul is strong enough it, with the combined power of the holy cross, will grow a new body that is almost as good as the old one (thus the skill loss)
I vote C please place your votes below

B. Never in my time here (short as it may be) has a character of mine died and come back to life because of some holy marble ground.

Hmm its a tough choice, but C would make more sense.

I prefer C, as I suggested one or two years ago somewhere in this board.
By becoming a cloud, it is like being a soul or a ghost, a state between life and death.
In this state, it is possible by the magic of the land of Illarion, to come back to real live or to fade away by time into real death
(decision of the player by rp).
If there passes much time, the ghosts / souls are wandering to Chergas plain, a place outside the reach of the livings, where they maybe have a last chance to come back (as happened once to Badmosche and also Zasmia).
And after being for longer time in the plains of Cherga, they would be death for ever.
This might be a way to play by rp with the death, having a backgroundstory about the metaphysical requirements our world.
This would also have the possibility for later, to create a kind of afterworld.

depending on what exactly happened i wold take B or C it can all depend.
B shold be common and C shold happen only to those with a large will to live or a goal to reach.

The times when Damien took care of an injured person at the cross

I think this is good.... B and C perhaps are compatable, in some cases an orc may wish to keep the oomie body and eat it... which is good because the body doesn't dissappear when you kill a person and the ex-owner doesn't want to be reborn in a body with no head... in which case the soul to which the bodies used to belong to must regrow his old.... a respectable warrior (*spits*) may leave the severely injured creature to go heal itself at the cross...

C simply because you should not be forced to roleplay injured because your character died.

@Jacob: What else would you do? Go right back to the fight?

Dev has a point lad, going back into a fight would be a bad roll play idea, for reasons you had just got your butt handed to you on a platter and you think you could fight again, or walk away with no injury after a blattle with sharp objects?

pehaps there should be a new feature that makes it so you cannot ctrl+click on an enemy for a period of time after being crossed
-you are too weak to fight... FLEA!-

You should be able to defend yourself, albeit weakly, even if injured. The system shouldn't take care of all problems. Some things just need a rule.

I am simple on this count, when crossed in PVP i avoid combat entirely when possible and if pressed strip half my armor to simulate wound and take it like a rat.
Quests/Monster spawns i vary...i will often just #me a wound and fight on bringing the wound to bear in rp after the event. Then forgoing combat or training for a few days as my character heals.

There are other alternatives then going back to the fight. Put simply, I will not play my character's physical body wounded as this is not something I am interested in doing unless I am actually interested in doing it if you follow. Ingame our character's literal spirit goes to the cross and they get a literal new body, occasionally one with less skills. So going strictly by what goes on ingame there is no reason to play having a character wounded when they are slain because they get a new body. Generally I play Jacob's new body is all sweaty as being resurrected is no simple feat and as such he will need to scamper away and rest for bit.
I involve getting my character wounded or injured when it fits my roleplay, as he gets beaten like a little rat by some very over powering character but still manages to escape alive .. That is when he is hurt as he didn't get a fresh body from that fight.
So yes, C is what I use personally.

like drinking 15 potions and getting me on the run again?

shame on you
i kinda screwed my char ... call it "unknowing powergaming"
i wasent even thinking of it lol
now my char sereously pwns many people in a real fight.
i shold have made him older or sholdent have trained with liles that much.
but i just love to roleplay with Kevin Lightdot ...
I like it that he's a fighter who can beat a "normal" man but i'm kinda pwning guards, undead and stuff right now
even had a pretty long fight with sylathen and then i ran after Jacob.
