Today's event / Heutiges Spektakel

I am sorry to announce that I have to postphone today's event (Malachin-Ritual to attract the demon who took the Vanima-book). Urgent RL-matters set me a deadline of 19:00 CET what is quite early and does not leave enough time for such a huge event. Most probably the event will take place on thursday or next weekend. Most preperations are done, it is just me who's missing ;-) You can continue your RP as usual, maybe prepare the ritual or sharpen your blades for the battle, you will need them.

---

Next weekend? Wasn't there a minor Illarion-related RL event then? :-)

RP it. The demon could interrupt your game. Then you can ask it to join in the game!

Demon throws the flame onion of death.

It took me a lot of time to set up the league.. and find a time when the majority could connect.. so I don't think its a good interruption...

Theres no law that says only one event can happen at any particular time. Have it, who cares. You win some you lose some.

"Let's make the unentertaining world of Illarion more fun by making everything happen at once, instead of dispersing events over time, and ultimately favoring one big mess over allowing several moments of fun."

Sounds like great logic to me.

Yeah but what's the fun of going to all the trouble of setting somethign up just so everybody goes to hunt demons instead?

Its something i set up so people could RP; not something i RPed...

I say everyone stops whining, the problem is that everyone knows if theres a demon involved, they are are going to the quest, even though 80% of the characters who do, likely have nothing to do with malachin or demons. This is an illarion fact, when something big and strong is involved, so is everyone else.

Our characters have brains, so why can't there be a tournement at the same time? I doubt the world stops when theres a football tournement does it?

1. Post a bit old.. tournament kind of happened all ready; thats the reason why there were 29 players online when the server crashed ;)

2. IG events are there to have fun.. what fun is there if nobody turns up?

Well, I think that's pretty stupid, personally. Your logic makes perfect sense for simulating realism, however simulating realism is not a synonym for creating some fun. In this specific case specifically I could care less about realism as I couldn't attend to either event because both were conveniently placed on the same day; that specific one I knew I wouldn't have time for.

*clap clap*

But yes, just keep pounding on what is so great about overlapping events. I'll keep bashing it down with reasons why it's in fact, stupid.

In instances matters shall overlap, When certain events are planned i know for certainty that they are not all announced, and some matters come about at the spur of the moment.

On the other hand large events should be monitered, a calander option on Outlook could accomplish this.

Ps Sian, you have way to much time on your hands, if youve the time you could colour this text in for me :P

Let's see the number of events I've been to lately:
Zero.

Just generally sounds like a really crappy idea currently to make several events happen at the same time in a game that is of dying entertainment. To me that's basically driving nails into a coffin that was already bound for its grave.

And hey, don't go complaining about free lessons that I give.

Hadrian, about 10 people were at the onion ball tourny, i doubt it was the reason 29 people were on the server .. Rather a busy time on a weekend ;)

People online has nothing to do with the sever crashing we are able to crash it with 2 people, 12 people or 29 people.
It is a random bug and as such the propability of it happening when server is busies or course rises. How ever i assure you the illarion server is able of accomidateing well over 29 people, that was part of the reason for a server migration and character wipe. An upgrade to our own owned by Illarion servers.
