Ok so its come to my attention people want villians in Illarion, which is a good thing, so what kind of villian do people want.
If I were to create a new villian charecter what would the players want to see?

From one villan to another,
http://illarion.org/community/forums/vi ... hp?t=16089
That thread holds wisdom.
Generally what many would like one they can pwn and feel shiny doing it. I say dont give it to them, its not just black and white simply do you like my shade of grey.
As i am so i remain

Hehe I don't intend on making a new character anytime soon but i read through that thread and its jumbled although does hold wisdom. I figured I'd make a new one where Players can put there ideas down without so much debate on other subjects and such.

It should be an undead.. Or maybe a necromancer.. Since undead and such can be fought in different ways than just fighting..

Undead: *sneezes* AAAATCHHO!!
Calilmal: Bless you!
Undead blows up.

;)

Anyways.. You could also have someone who is generally a popular person.. Someone you have been playing for some while.. (dont tell the people you know your real name, use a !name ;) ) And this person have a dark side.. Every once in a while the dark side takes over and secretly muggs and murdurs people. Noone knows who it is :) It would be cool. Also you could put out different clues to different people to misslead us :)

No random killing, just silly and annoying.

A perfect villian would be IMHO someone like Pendar, or Brother Markous fighting for "evil". But there must be a good reason for it... that would be a perfect villian

Markous IS evil. He's an overzealous paladin bent on destroying all evil. To him, evil can be anything. Especially orcs, them and their dastardly non Zhambra worshipping ways!

I think Dravish is doing a great job. His progression from slightly shady to outright villain over the months I've played with him has been incredible and he has motives for every single thing he does, and there is even now a tiny shred of emotion left to him, though not really exploitable very much.

I think he is a great villain, but mostly because of the way he evolved that way. I don't think you can really 'create' a villain. He's got to evolve.

Absolutely we get back to the point villans are not just born or rarely so they progress and let the game mould them. I would hope some of my characters includeing Pendar fall into peoples concept of a "villan". As really what is villan it is some one who creates a conflict Now provideing your are not playing a character who is inherently self loathing or at some level knows he is in fact wrong.
Pendar could be a villan as you will come into conflict with him and he doesnt play nice :)

You have not met Dravish in the beginning then? He already was running around a tad with Misjbar, scaring the villagers. :)

A good point. To Thal for instance the guards are villians and he despsies them.

For another character of mine they are heroes spectacular ighters protecting the town.

And for another character of mine they are just men, paid to fight, he empathises with them.

Perhaps your last character should be more impressed, as we don't get paid. ;)

The ones you hate to love.

The worst villain is honest, upright, brave, helpful, friendly, altruistic and naive.

Nobody has any scrupel for a treacherous, wicked, insane, sadistic, egomaniacal psycho-killer.
