Ich bin sicher das es alle mitbekommen haben, das irgendein bösartiger Fehler auf dem Spiel Server umgeht, der dazu führt, dass der Server nach mehr oder weniger langer Zeit, abstürzt.

Trotz zeitaufwendiger Analysen konnten wir den Fehler nicht finden, weil er immer dann wenn wir suchen, natürlich nicht auftritt.

Allerdings sind wir uns ziemlich sicher, das der Fehler durch irgendeine Aktion eines Spielers ausgelöst wird, weil der Fehler meist dann geschieht wenn viele Spieler online sind.

Daher nun der Aufruf an alle Spieler, die zu den Zeitpunkten der Abstürze auf dem Server waren:

Schreibt jede Aktion die ihr unmittelbar vor dem Absturz ausgeführt habt. Auch die Aktionen die für euch schon nicht mehr wirksam waren sind relevant. Versucht so gut wie möglich zu beschreiben, was ihr getan habt.

I'm sure all noticed it, there is a evil bug on the game server, that crashes the server, after more or less long time.

We are not able to find this bug for all we have searched a long time.

But we are pretty sure, that an action of a player is the reason for the crashes, because the error happens mostly at the times when many players are on the server.

That is the reason for this appeal to all players who are online when the server crashes:

Report every single action you do, at the moments before the server crash. The actions that have no effekt, because the server has crashed are importaint, too. Try to descripe your actions as exactly as possible.

*hust* Ich verstehe ja das ihr nicht den Fehler findet, aber gleich den ganzen Server?

I find that the server usually crashes for me if I minimise the game screen for a few seconds (silly people trying to talk to me while i'm roleplaying )

I don't think thats actually the server crashing, that is you timing out because you'vre got the window closed too long.

This is just a client logout. If the server crashes no one can log in. Like currently.

Na das hilft doch schonmal ein wenig. Wir werden deinen Chars sofort Isolieren und ihn löschen damit der Server nicht nochmal abstürzt.

nein im ernst hab da eine gewisse Ahnung ggf bestätigt sie sich. Bitte vor allem darauf achten ob jemand unmittelbar vor dem chrash ausloggt.

please watch if someone is logging out before the server crashes maybe i have an idea what the problem is.

What if the crash isnt a accidental thing? What if people have found a way to crash the server so they can reverse time and prehaps redo a trade/lost/etc? I doubt they would just hand in the bug.

Listen to metal and medieval music instead, both are compatible with illarion.


I also can remember a time when i logged out (GM Char in this case), and after doing so several players pinged me that the server had crashed just then.

While this might sound funny it in fact is not. Please stay on topic, we try to solve a problem here.
To joke around, use another thread or even another board (preferably the OT board).

Well, ontopic then, it mostly crashes while I try to login. It shows my character, I take a step or one, and then it crashes. Only happened to me twice though. This has nothing to do with the "character map creation bug thingie if you get the drift" thingie, because it is a character I play regularely.

It just crashed (Frozen) as I walked into the shop after having smithed 12 short sword blades.

I was walking around the island.

Four elves were talking at the front entrance of Vanima.

I was writing #me ((Text)).

I was about to mine. (shift : click pickaxe, click rock)

I was just writing a textmessage.

This is still a very important thread.
As there were several crashes lately I expect input!

Illarion minimised for a moment, whilst useing MSN

Heh. It seems we found the problem.

Overview (State: 2005/10/04 04:09:25 pm)There is only one player online. Her/His name is:

Darius

Darius was the only one online when it crashed.

This time the server seemed to be shutten down by hand.

Some logged out a moment for the last crash. Who?

When the server crashed i was thrown from the game.

Stating the connection had been closed.

There was no lag etc, just a suddon kick out whilst the game was minimised.

I was just writing a sentence when the server crashed.

I was walking to pick up about five pieces of leather that had just at that moment "cured" at the pig area.

On the first Crash, i was AFK...and on the second one i was just walking around....
