Graphical Idea for Mountains

It hit me how the montains are flat. So, this is my idea on how to make them 3-d.

Around the base of the mountains we could put the flat wall tiles, and on certain spots bridges or dirt/road paths up. More of these wall tiles will be placed so the mountian resembles an accualy mountain, with complete winding paths and so on.

Or, we could put the tall walls, and make the mountain X stories high.

Not a really hard idea, and im sure it is the last of the game's worries.

I don't know how that works to actually make it happen (programming and... the rest of it), but I like it aesthetically...

you talk about the ground tiles. And ground tiles are...what did you think? Indeed! Flat! Not 3d. And if the mountain tiles would be 3d the character would disappear in parts unter the tile. This is crap. We would need mountain Items. But to make something like this, is very very hard.

With a major effort both for designing mountain walls and for the map team to layout them, this would be possible.

But winding paths cannot be done with the current setup. Changing a level with ladders/stairs etc is always done by jumping to the other level. There's no feasible way around that. So no winding uphill paths.
