mabey i'm just paranoid but i think someone has given me a trojan. somtimes my CD drive will just open and stay open. somtimes my mouse buttons change. both of these are annoying but worst of all my computer seems to "lock-up". Also, one time an error message came up saying "are you gay?" and there was only one button saying yes so i had to say i was gay to use my computer(i didn't, i turned off the power) can any one give me info on how to remove this trojan because my friend told me that the "hacker" can use a key log or somthing to find out my passwords and he/she could access my illarion account.

use something like mcafee/norton virusscan/antivirus or f-prot or an other good trojan scanner.
install a dektop firewall so you can find the trojan when he tries to contact the internet.

Remember all people who gave/sent you some program. Maybe one of these have packed a trojan into it.

And the things you said are typical for "Back Orifice" or "Back Orifice 2000" as well as "Netbus" and "Sub Seven". All are trojans that are 1. easy to use and 2. easy to pack into program files.

Be careful. Someone abusing your PC with these can access everything on your hard disk as well as logging all your doing.

You can download a firewall such as Zone Alarm (www.zonelabs.com). I believe that is the website.  It will ask you if you want to allow programs to connect to the internet.  However if you click the box that says do not ask or something like that it will always allow it so you may not want to have that box checked for your internet connection.  Hope i helped.

p.s. this firewall is free and got good reviews.

the tools to do things like fake errors or something like this are SubSeven and Rat2k.
This Trojans are easy to find when u use ZoneAlarm....its free and can detect outgoing connections of all ur running software.
Just try to stay offline and solve ur problem offline with a friend who can download
zonealarm and burn it on cd.

sorry vindigan i had replied so late, i didt use forums until now but anyways you can get this really great and easy to use firewall at:

http://download.com.com/3000-2092-10167694.html

As for your virus scan, might want to get a professional version. Like Mcaffe, dont get the Mcaffe firewall it is really confusing to use :)

There are many trojans that also contain a back door, such as Netbus I believe it's called.

First, don't download and install ANY program you don't know for SURE is not a trojan. You probably downloaded and installed either some "cute" program, a program someone sent you, or a warez program that was infected.

Zonealarm is a free firewall that will block any ports you dont' specify. Althuogh it won't help you from getting the trojan in the first place, it can prevent someone from getting into your computer.
