The above is a sneak peek of the upcoming Java client. It boasts lots of nifty new animations and graphics. A still picture really doesn't do it justice. More images to come soon.

				YAY, BUNNIES!
wow, that looks cool o_O
but um, somehow the new belt and life and mana bars are more complex and hard to handle with than before. But maybe thats just because they are unfamiliar to us ^_^. the mix of metal and stone dont seem to fit together, sorry, it is also a bit too bright

 .
But I love the bunnys! the new grafics and that potions, wow! And a rawr to the sword... ^_^
WOW! And are that shadows behind the trees? yay! we get shadows!!

				Japheth. His name is Japheth.
And on topic, I think the new client looks great. Especially the demon.

The new interface needs a little bit of work, in my oppinion
The many new graphics are a welcome change, and I rather like the black text boxes, maybe just 5 or 6% more transparency on them

i dont think the text boxes are much fun with 5-10 players in one window. would block too much of the sourrounding.

That is why he proposed more transparency Galim.

It's nice, but there are a lot of things that still need to be implemented. Is magic coming out with this new client? And what about the proppsed !description and #description commands instead of typing '#me has brown hair...' etc over and over again? We want functionality before pretty graphics

even than, its too much distracting
that with the description would be nice. to write everything again and again is after some time not fun anymore ^_^

I like the text boxes. Finally, I can even read what a character says just above himself, not in the journal.
I also like the new surrounding of marked fields, the red line wasn't the best at all. I also like the new font, much more readable
Well done, guys and maybe girls.

No, I CAN - at the screenshots.

Before it was, as far as I remember and recognized right, yellow on ground, light green mostly, not the best way to print a text.

@Galim: I'd propose you write your own game.
As it seems our imaginations of how things should look like do not fit your high standards. You are able to see everything just by viewing some screenshots and you can of course pick out those things which are really horrible and terribly stupid. I am sorry for that.

Careful, Japheth. You should warn them that this is a very early version of this client, and so far only 3-4 weeks have gone into it. The person to thank is Nop, whom can be said to be no less than a brilliant programmer. He literally rebuilt Illarion from the ground on up with the help of Martin's constant graphic work.
Last I talked to Martin about this, the release date is ~December. You may get magic before this. We *could* show you magic, but not necessarily in that client as I don't believe it has a way to access the runes yet.
It's also important to say that you're really missing the whole picture. This client really shines in it's animations. Characters walk smoothly through the fields now, the text box at the bottom moves fluidly, as you mouse over the various inventory slots they light up with an animation, and when you cntrl+click a large circle with crosshairs circle your enemy before they go *flppt* dissapearing in smattering of blood.
There are other features planned, some that even parts of the staff aren't fully aware of (and probably some that I'm not aware of), but I feel that we shouldn't go too far with the teasers. Already, I've become spoiled by this new client.

i just gave my ideas and my opinions. thats all. thought the developers would like that from palyers. no need to bitch so around martin, really. I look atg the pics and i write my opinion about the things i see, and if i see first that the textboxes are too dark and the metal and stone dont fit than i write that down.
if you give nothing on the opinions of the players its not my fault. bah!
