When I go to create a character it says my name needs to start with a letter and it is.  I don't get it.  Any helpful hints?

Avoid using more than one capital and signs such as '.' ',' ';' etc..

Maybe it's like that because the server is down. Try again when it is up!

you can try it now then. hope everything works out.
usually the names and things wont even show if the server is down or hanging....atleast on mine.

If the server was down, you wouldn't even get to the stage of pressing the create button.
