2 things:

1) The dye made from tree bark is grey (it says grey dye and it looks grey), but it makes yellow cloth ....

2) More importantly, when you fail making the dye with the bark, you lose your bucket as well. I went through a few buckets already trying to do this ...

It is possible for the dye its self, when it is in the bucket, isnt getting enough light to show it is yellow. But when exstended across the cloth you can see clearer. I think if you were to shine a flashlight (impossible for those times) you could see the yellow.

And about the bucket, that is screwed up.
