A boat from the south

The small rickity vessel ploughed through the water, the water splashing violently up the hull, it sliced through the thick fog which impeded the occupants view as it trundled ever so slowly towards it's destination.
As the boat traveled further a black low lieing thing appeaered before them, a state of expectancy hung in the air as the muffled voices of the passengers traveled slowly through the thick air.
Finally, before them, they saw what they had been hoping for for several weeks now - land and the harbour, or for most of them, the entrance to their new lives where they could forget their old lives and start afresh. But for one passenger this was not the start of his new life, but the ending of another's. As his short, cloaked figure trudged out of the harbour he was seen to draw a map, quickly check it then head through the forest in a north east direction...
Suddenly there was a flash and crash of thunder and Sadare arose from his flashback of that event in his life so many days ago. ''I must find him, he must be found'' he thought
