Player Absences

I know of Aeghol's post "Your Friend DOWNTIME" but if a character is absent and never to be seen again for no reason (eg, quit), do the IG effects of his accounts stop and they all pretend nothing happened, or do they RP the they see the person ever so often?
A bit of curritosity tis' all.

I realy doubt it. BUt when i came back i was greeted by Kamik with "JOSH!?" so i guess that backs it up. But in whole honesty, what else can you do?

When you see a person in real life and you talk to them every few days and see them every few days, then they disappear and you never hear from them again do you just pretend they never existed? :] Of course not. If you cared about them you ask around, see if anyone knows. No one knows? Perhaps they moved away...

I think it depends on a number of factors.
Did this player announce on the boards that he was busy for a while or did he announce that he was leaving? Do you know the PO and how they feel about it? Did you ask?
Those sorts of questions would have to be answered before I could say how I, personally, would deal with it.
Also, communication was not quite the industry it currently is. A friend goes missing and you can call, e-mail, private-message, instant message, text message, two-way and scream real loud down the road all within a few seconds. There was a time, I think we're all aware, that it wasn't so, and friends would have an easier time dissapearing, even by accident.

Of course you were. The last memory Kamik had of Joshua was him killing an innocent lizard and keeping the body inside a barrel.

GAh, just a sidenote. Pendar is not god. We have done without Pendar before. Just so you will not commit suicide when he goes on holiday.
