WHY WHY WHY - disconnected related deaths

Why is it that whenever i get disconnected, my character stays in the game, until i go try and log in again and i get the "your character is already logged on" message. Its VERY annoying, as if I am disconnected it is often when I am fighting monsters and things. I don't mind dying if its my own fault, but dying because of this shouldn't be.

The reason for this is lag. May be related to your internet provider, or to general server lag. AOL users seem to experience this sometimes even when the server is not lagged.

when you loose your connection to the server the server will logout your char after short time
