Don't think I have seen this comment anywhere yet...

My character has been working with carpentry and I've been around for a few weeks now. I'm pretty sure I have the shift-click thing down and I have made staffs before (and I have also been making large and small staff handles, etc.), but now I can't make a staff at all.

I get no response from the system saying I have failed, it just doesn't seem to work. I was going to put this on flyspray, but I'm sure it's probably something I am doing wrong. Suggestions?

you're using branches and carving tools, right?

If you have made them before you should still be able to make them. Have you been killed between then and now? You lose some skill if you die. The longer you're dead the more skill you'll lose. You can gain the skill back again. Look at it as convalescence

Oh yeah, have the branch in my belt and the carving tools in my hands, but it doesn't seem to be producing anything.

I haven't been killed before, but I have made staffs before. In fact, it was one of the first things I made (As I gave out three of them, or so, and still have one of them that my character carries).

I did noticed the answer to Hadrian's question the last time I tried making one. There was no staff in the sub window for staffs. Has me confused, but I'll hold off for a little while I guess and see if I have the option again sometime. Perhaps, Luin is just a bit forgetful...

Are you sure they were staffs?? maybe confused it with staff handles...

They were staffs. I have large and small staff handles as well as a basic staff in my inventory as we type.

If you are facing a tree, bush or anything else that is used for other things, it will show an empty menu. It is cind of strange, but as you dont stand beside a tree, depot anvis or such it will show you the menu.

Well, I can make them now. My character has leaned enough to do so. My problem wasn't with the new bug, but that I could make staffs when I first joined but for some reason, couldn't make them any longer after a certain amount of time. Thanks for the respons though.
