He'rs my idea... lets say you craft things using ONE tool.... my idea is... you can make better quality items if you use more than one tool.. the one required and an 'extra' one

Example--> You are a smith... you use the hammer and you get an item of "good" quality...Next time, u purchase a 'bellows'/... you try again and you get a "very good" quality...

Thats my idea...

You can't smith without bellows. How will you get the fire hot enough to melt the metal?

She has a point....

I think what he m,eans is like woodcarving, you could use a Plane AND Carving Tools to make somthign better than you could with just a plane.

More like for example cleaning wool with a comb, or using tweezers to remove the threads...

Or using a saw as well when you carve...

Using an extra tool.... which isn't vital.. but makes better quality

yeah this is a good idea, you could even go as far as having several different levels. Like, if you JUST use a plane on wood, you'll get a bad quality item for not making boards first. If you make boards, then use the plane, you get a mediocre item. If you fine tune that with carving tools, you get a very good quality item.

Better quality comes from better skill.
Quality of tools and resources should also effect the quality of the end product. If you use rotten wood you will never make a good item. Rusty, old tools will be harder to make high quality items with. (This may already be implemented. I have not experimented much with different quality wood, etc.)

But for example... a person has more money,... he'll want to invest it in something to make his products better...

Even something like different makes of tools, an Iron/Gold tipped pickaxe digs out multiples...

Example, you saw the logs, you also use a plane... and you get better quality boards.. [also you waste more time when that's implemented]
