Pronounciation

I know this may sound strange to some of you... but i think we should write how our character's names are pronoused... especially elvish names which are a mouthfull....

Personally, my mother tongue is harsh, so i prononuce them all in a harsh manner... maybe it is not what the creator intended...

Eliron Sharid

Prononced --> Ell-E-Ron... Sha-Rid

Hopes this clarifies... something...

It sounds like a nice idea, but considering different people have different languages and dialects, I think the pronouncing of names will always be different. Even though you may want your name to be pronounced like you yourself say it, it is not for sure that for example an elf and a dwarf would pronounce a human name the same way...

This is only a thought however.

I think that part of making the character name is getting others to calm him/her by it... if i dont know how to pronounce it, or pronounce it differently, it will lose its value...

In the game, if someone tells you the name, you are hearing it, so all speak it in the same way...

Personally, i couldn't prononouce Salathe's name.. thanks...

[Try to write the prononosiation using the British English language]

Well as I said, my comment was merely a thought. Though I see your point of view and I will think thoroughly upon it.
For those who wish to know, my name is pronounced as follows:

Have-eh-rix.

Sskakzk'krr...

Some people say they have a hard time with it, others say they simply say it like it is. I don't think I'll explain.

It's lizard-like. :)

Well, I was thinking of the "harsh" 'On' as spoken in English, I suppose "Aan" would result in the same.

I actually posted that because three different people thought that "Sian" was pronounced differently, like these words/names:
• "Scion" ('Sai-yan')
• "Cyan" ('Sai-yen')
• "Sean" ('Shawn')
• "Xian" ('Shahn')

'Sea-Aan', or 'Sea-On', that's the right way. ;)
