Well, I'll let you figure out the commands of the Roleplay NPCs yourself, but for those that sell items the following commands should help you.
"Help." Should display a list of helpful commands.
"What do you sell?" Should display a vague list of what the NPC sells.
"List your wares." Should display the precise items that an NPC sells.
"I sell one <insert item name>" To sell item.
"I buy one <insert item name>" To buy item. (I think that's right, others correct me, if I'm wrong)
Of course, there are general commands like:
"Hello."
"Who are you?"
And so forth.
Some NPCs also require that you speak in their native languages, such as the NPC in the dwarf town.
That should be enough for you to figure every other NPC out. The process is fairly logical.

Better use numbers instead of words ... some don't react on words, only on numbers.
"I want to buy a / 1 ...."
"I want to buy 3 ...."

Other commands:::
What is the cost of a ****?
How much would you pay for 1 ****?
What items do you buy?
---------
Also if he says something like i sell food, tools and more::
If you say "what is ****" s/he'll give you the information about that item;;; that is will list food, or tools or whatever

What do you do if you got the second gift for the NPC, but he has forgotten that you already gave him the first? Ok I bought the Gift for the Orc, but intstead the NPC that I bought it of SAM, gave me a hatchet will it do any diffrence?
Also have weather conditions been put into the game?
I noticed that it stopped raining when I entered the game, without even knowing it started.

But that was the Elf, wasn't it?
And whats up with not being able to sell swords and daggers?

They're really common from people fighting with mummies.

But why does the NPC say "Come back when you have that!"

It is easy.
The NPC reacts on your sentence: I want to sell a sword.
For the NPC, sword is his keyword combined with an item id, let's say 345.
But you are holding a sword with ID 321 in your hand / bag. The NPC checks the IDs, sees, that you haven't got the right one and says: Come back, when you have that.

That is the same reason as to why certain parts of clothing, depending on their shape and color, and some other items, cannot be sold, and the NPC reacts with a "Come back when you have that!".

Exactly why an item shouldn't just be 'trousers' or 'sword'. When clicked on, they should be 'green trousers' or 'cheap sword'.

So you can't sell swords?
Shouldn't this be posted on the flyspray site or does everybody already know about it?

If you have the sword with the item ID, Eliza wants, you can sell it to her.
But not each sword is sellable.
Same for other categories.

Has anyone succeded? and what to do about the orc who wont accept my 2nd tribute?

About the swords—just a guess of mine, but perhaps the NPCs only buy the types that can be smithed, not those that can be found as "item drops" from NPCs or monsters.

I have one question, The elf in the elf town, that sells carving tools.. What is the key word to get him to sell you the carving tools? That seem to surpass me.

"I would like to buy SOME carving tools."
That worked for me atleast.

what must you say to the orc that is to the west of Varshikar, the warrior
one because I know he has a quest or wahtever but I don't know what to say apart from hello?
Posted: Sun Jul 17, 2005 1:47 pm
by Aegohl
Hmmm. I wrote his dialogue, but even I can't remember.
I believe it starts with "greetings" or "hello."
Then he says that he is "Tihgorac the warrior" and then you say "Warrior" or "fighter" and it will take you deeper into his web of commands. All of his commands should be in the preceding sentence or at least obvious after the preceding sentence.

While we're on the subject of 'the magic words' to get an NPC to buy something... Eliza says she buys bows... but I sat for nearly half an hour one night trying variations on names and a/one/1/some, and with an 's' and without... these were crafted items... and she *always* says 'come back when you have that'. So what's the magic word? lol

You don't have the right bow.

She only buys short bows. I'm still trying to make one of these. Even with instruction it seems I'm missing something.

I think there is a bug...
The "Hunter's bow" appears when produced as "bow"
The "serinjah-rider's bow" appears as "hunter's bow"
The "bow" cant be sold
