The server may have been down. That's when that happens to me.

Maybe you put the Illarion.exe on your desktop and not together in the folder with the other Illarion files?
Another problem may be a router (or any firewall), check if you have one.

No firewall and Illarion is in original folder.

Some information about your system are helpful. What is your OP system? and how is the configuration from your machine? Maybe you need some newer drivers for your graphic card?

OS is windows 98 , and i know it isnt my graphics card because Illarion worked fine one time before this happened.

Or maybe even an older graphics driver? I remember at one time when I had 98se installed I had to roll back my driver everytime I wanted to play illa, then update when I wanted to play counter strike. Older drivers especially drivers that come with windows tend to be more stable.

You may just have to reboot your computer, unless you've already done so.
Check to make sure the Illarion files are in the right place.

Oh, also, don't go by what the front page says about the server. It always says it's up, even when it's not. ~.

Can you give some info about the computer you're using?
If you're not sure how to get this information, go to Start, Run and enter: dxdiag - press enter and wait for a moment.

I still think it was the server. During his last post saying it happened again, I know for a fact the server was down. I was watching it with a hawkeye.

Try right now.

You wrote you have the drivers fromyour graphic card from Win 98. Visit the website from the manufacturer from this card and download the newest driver. Maybe you need a newer version of directx? load down the latest release from the microsoft server.... is your machine working well? maybe you have some collisions with the interrupts..... or the drivers are not correct installed.....
